TL;DR
Twitter accounts can easily be abused to send commands to your computer via SMS, or to have the computer send YOU an SMS when something happens. But the actual idea of the site is quite sad IMO. Broadcasting your menial everyday tasks just to get a little attention from people on the internet... I bet that there are actually more people who twitter their shit than people who actually read it.
I don't think it's for getting a little attention. Do you use MSN/IRC? Is the same thing, just a different kind of IM.

Twitter isn't really about menial tasks. Self-moderate and do not post shit like "having a shit", post stuff that people might find interesting.

Just came home form a party at uni, eating a banana and drinking the last drop of Nestea that I bought from 7/11 on my way home. Took 25 minutes (or so) to go from the university to the station on foot (with a bit of running), which is very nice.

@trace: I still think ICQ/MSN is bollocks, and only use it in order to keep in touch with the twats who aren't using irc. ;)
