Yet another... platform

Iverona, you are loosing the point, somewhat. People are pretty much used to the kind of graphics that PS2, GameCube, Xbox (original) and the Wii provide, so one can probably call that level of graphics adequate, and the level that Xbox360 and PS3 an extra which can be overseen at this point. Few people will not puke at PS1 or N64 graphics these days. So i believe in a sense, specs _are_ important, although i'm not necessarily the pro-latest-generation guy... being a fan of Dreamcast. :D
And why did Dreamcast fail commercially? Over its competitors PS2 and GameCube it had offered an established library of well-developed and fun titles. You know, all SEGA original games were basically TONS of fun back then. But it had a PERCEIVED specification a few times weaker than the competitors, making it look outdated...
This Zeebo system seems to lie just between what PS1/N64 offered and what PS2/GC/Wii offer.
And i suspect the game offers will be poor, if they only intend to offer very low-budget games there, while both PS2 and Wii are targets of high-budget game development today - developers have the money to make the game experience best possible but also to use the hardware to its fullest.
The lower spec of, say, PSP and DS is offset with a handheld format, with displays ranging from thumb-sized to barely intelligible, but some titles nontheless receive moderately high budgets there.

console market isn't that easy :]

Outdated? Dreamcast was yet another ahead of it's time release from Sega, just like Genesis was the first 16 bit console. And from the hardware standpoint Sega was superior. But it's marketing was poor. And price. And games were less fun. I mean when SNES and Genesis were around I remember that apart from Sonic and Lost Vikings I found the rest of the Sega games boring. Maybe it was just me.
As for Zeebo... we'll see. We'll see what the PERCEIVED specification will be. I am not saying anything but that it can theoretically work.
