Edge of Disgrace for all time Tops?

Horray \o/!
Surely the best C64 demo so far. Although a lot of this is due to pure quantity. The next C64 killer demo can beat Edge of Disgrace by having a good "story".

Nice, some stuff at least I haven't seen on c64 before, plenty of pretty transitions, but still I don't understand what all this hype is about.
On the other hand, half of the fun in c64 demos is understanding why things are impossible, and I'm not knowledgeable enough for that. I guess I'll have to watch it again with someone who does. (Hint: info boxes?)
Anyway, I wasn't blown away. The music wasn't "best soundtrack anywhere eva" like someone put it.. and I usually like c64 soundtracks.

Even though I don't come here anymore I will make an exception just to point to the fact that Zplex is a clueless idiot. He will fry in Pixel Hell.
holy shit, that is the some of the most stunning C64 coding ever. congratulations booze!
My trolling mission is over. Mission accomplished. (Thanks Archmage :))
So I am only one who ISN'T trolling about not liking the demo?
I never realized there was something so horribly wrong with majority of people.. :-)

hm, to be honest I also liked Natural Wonders 2 and Amplifire better than this. But I admit that I didn't follow the C64 scene in the last years too closely to really appreciate the code involved. To me it mostly looked too early amiga500 oldschoolish in places - which technically surely is a massive achievement, but entertaining-wise I liked above demos more...
You are welcome. You might be a troll. But you are still a clueless idiot.
archmage you disappoint me. I clearly stated that I might be clueless about the code - but please accept the fact that code is only half of the equation. if a demo is boring it is boring, period.
orb and andromeda guys seem to have pretty big egos recently.

oops. archmage sorry, seems your comment was for zplex...
I do think he was talking to Zplex. Yet, I smell lots of unjustified elitism.
*shuts up and gets back to cave*
I was refering to Zplex, not you.

PC Demoscene will forever be in search for a product like "Edge of Disgrace"....
Actually, it only took me three seconds:
Learn about the platform before you speak, you C64 troll!
(yay for me)
i say yes
At least top of the month for now :)
@Dane: Which SID version is it better watched with?
Was the music composed for 6581 or 8085?

I think it deserves to be in the top10.
far from my all time top, but a great prod anyway.
@doh: 8580 (new sid)
It's a damn decent demo yeah, but I secretly was more impressed with the music from the Horizon Instinct demo! :)
I don't get the whole C64 thing..
You know, I kind of prefer
Pearls for Pigs. I guess the music is more my taste and the flow in it, plus it has nice/original touches like the eyes on the pig graphic.
I also prefer Sanders stuff better than traditional c64 prods. Edge of Disgrace is cool, nice graphics (at the beginning mainly), but for my ignorant mind on that field is just 15 minutes of plasmas and rotozoomers. The demo has been designed for oldschool demosceners, I just wish they also tried to implement their code with original ideas not only in the scene but in the digital world.
In other words, if statix/pulse did a c64 demo, I'm sure it won't be about plasmas and rotozoomers, he would have tried to see other implementations for these effects.
To me the demo doesn't look from 2008. And once it was finished I really didn't feel like playing it again. Having said that, I really admire spending that much time on it and releasing it.
Ok, let the "you're clueless idiot!" fest begin!
