coding is not so much my problem (i earn a good buck doing it for a living) but what i've learned from trying to make a demo after 5.5 years of not doing anything is mainly that the mechanics of putting something together have changed. and if you don't keep up it'll immediately reflect in your visuals, compared to what others do.

part of me feels it's high time to adapt to certain production techniques, but the other part says it might not be the best idea to stray too much from what defines you stylewise.

Parallelly to that i wonder how many clowns will come around to apologize about missing the deadline, it's a nice way to get out of it...

if you really think that investing many hours and the frustration of missing a deadline is worth a couple of hundred bucks of hardware to me or anyone else..

Gargaj/Gloom, I just updated the files at my link (which wasn't submitted in time yesterday considering I started this today), so if you've already grabbed it, can you please grab it again? I fixed a bug where one of the threads kept on running after the demo exited in window mode :-)

niels: eh, not to you maybe, but there is a reason why these kits were handed out in the first place.

anyway i've already said enough about the matter and we'll be releasing later on this year. for now i'm looking forward to the democompo (4k's bore me, even todays ones).

It somewhat amuses me how people tend to think that this deadline just came in from nowhere. Yes, polishing should be the real gig to do now. Hurra.

i submitted through both party meister and the web hting and updated the zip all the way up until noon so probably a good idea to download the latest. :) hopefully it works nicely on compo machine looks like some nvidia 8800's have issues with a couple of my particles! eeek

What's the status on mentor... he has disconnected (which is probably wise, considering he should be bugfixing ;) )

i cant do a proper 4k myself,but tried and submitted ( posting only coz i think you´re too much into this thread/pouet rather than doing anything possible in 4k...ofcoz music is a hard thing to do and myself got some helping hand in this case...)

theres no fu***ng time-schedule anywhere on the nvscene-site,so thats why i´m still posting...dunno,if it gets shown in a minute or got shown already...( the only info i got is that the hard-deadline was about one hour ago ) ...but what does that say about when the SCHEISSE! ( = SHIT! ) gets shown ? (sry for the words,but thats how the world is talkin nowadays ...atleast in germany ;) )

i thin a ratio of 30 entrys / 80 demoboxes went out cant be what it was about....

i´m taking part in the compo myself so i think i can release my thougghts here... if more ppl would have attended there would have been more ppl in front of me,so why shouldnt i tell what i think ?

Gargaj: I am crinkling right now, and have spent loads of time on it so far. The version which I am crinkling breaks the rule about storing files permanently, but I have already made a version which cleans up after itself.

File should be up in 10 minutes, unless I end up with over 4k of exe. Which I hope I don't.

.c0c00n.: The rumors (timetables available locally, according to Mentor) say that the 4k compo will begin at 6 PM PDT (3 AM CET) and the demo compo will be right after the 4k compo.
