it starts to get funny if someone who pirated the games starts endless discussions and claims that he has some obscure rights and the whole gaming industry should listen to his "customer voice".

go and buy a console...

xenusion: soo, not listening to people who didn't buy your goods because they think something is wrong with them, that's a bad idea? because there can't be a reason that they're not your customer other than "they're bad!"?

i'm not quite the piracy geek myself, but your point is basically what the music industry said a few years ago and see where that got them.

the point is... while you probably like to listen to your own voice the whole day still it doesnt makes much sense to tell your life story to the next stone in front of your door.

do you seriously think pouet is the customer support of EA,UBI,..?
are there any wankers/producers lurking around here?
and even if there would be one... would they listen to you if you have stolen their product and try to explain why you have stolen it?
obviously not.

xenusion, dont have an oppinion on something you havent even bothered to read. Yes i downloaded this game to see what the hype was about, and i was appaled. I often do that, but let me tell you what...within the last 3 months i have paid for

mass effect pc
gears of war pc
the witcher pc

2 of those i downloaded before i went out to buy them, and there is a reason that i do that, and that reason should pretty fucking obvious had you bothered to read what i ranted about. Assasins creed could have been on that monthly game investment list, but it wasnt, and there is a reason for that too. So im quite pleased to do it this way as demos have a nasty tendency of being deceptive e.g the demo has no bad techincal issues and the final game shows to be a disaster area.

I have not for years, downloaded a game and finnished it. But i have checked quite a few of them out, and if i was pleased, put my money down for the previlige of finnishing the game with a clean contiousness.

and furthermore xenu---try talking sense into a cosumter '"service", have you had succecs doing that ever? im trying to express my concerns to the grassroots. Those without whom there would be no costumer service to begin with.

you obviously overestimate the influence of someone working at a company and doing code or artwork.

and btw. the industry is listening to your voice since some time...
almost no pc exclusives anymore
and funny funky little casual games for your notebook.
isnt that great? you get all what you rant for.

oh and thx for stealing our work

Iblis: A random coder/artist/whatever has just about as much influence on the entire game as does your regular office rat to the processes of the entire office. I work at a game company and there's a gazillion things I'd do differently, but my say doesn't count for much.

but the mass of you?

xenu, paying money for your work is not stealing it. make honest demos and ill reconcider what im doing.

dude you have admitted that you have pirated our game...

added on the 2008-06-17 13:37:29 by xeNusion xeNusion
yes, and i deleted it again when i found out how fucking horrible it was. I used the download as a demo. I did not finnish it, yet alone progress further than a few mission. Had you taken another approach to it, it would be on my gaming budget, see the connection here?
added on the 2008-06-17 13:39:28 by NoahR NoahR
i see only foul excuses and ranting.
there was even a demoversion of it to give everyone the chance to try it before buying it.

you dont even had the slightest reason for pirating it but you did.
nothing more to prove.

elsewhere, if enough of you are annoyed, or enough of you take it as a personal responsability to make their clients happy little piglets, and you know what that requires, sure you must have a say as a group? have you tried? have you ever even wanted to? . When i see the pride a lot of coders traditionally put into democode, and look at the lack of it that seems ot be the going rate of the industry i have to wonder. Someone has got to be atleaast annoyed that they are not allowed to do their work properly. And i realise that its for the most part because of unrealistic deadlines set by people who have no clue how much work it takes and how long it actually requires.

i can see the following conversation take place "looks good, nice graphics, lets realease it now" .."but sir the balanace of the ga..", "blanace schmalance, i know a finnished game when i see it, release in a month", "but...." --

It's obvious that gamers uproars makes little difference, so who do we need to talk to?

xenu, get over yourself, no really!

back to topic

why did you pirated the game while there was a demo available?

ah damn... lunch break is over.
to bad.

Honestly, I have lost patience to even install a game: download or open the box and put the dvd in and wait while installing; then go through some tedious briefing and introduction; then learning how to play the game.

I always used to play games so that I can see the graphics - the old adventure games, the first first-person shooters... Now all I need to do is go to youtube and within 1 minute I can see some state of the art "in game" graphics, without all the mambo-jumbo installing and upgrading.

I completely lost the ability to wait for something to happen on my computer (install, loading, cut scenes) probably since the advent of fast internet. My rule has been "if the page doesn't load in half a second then press close", which is applied now to all other aspects of my computer life.

I have the feeling that I'm not the only one with the same "problem" here...

because a lot of the demos i used to download was outright deceptive, so i all out stopped downloading game demos for that very same reason. The last time i downloaded a demo was "the witcher" and it was very deceptive, so i see that apprently not much have changed within the game industry.

Seriously, i have gone over this allready. Now...get over yourself please.
