Demoscene needs more direction...

what the fuck is happening to the demoscene of late?
nothin but mother fucking copying each others design styles, it's getting boring... stop complaining about new technologie and use it to innovate instead...

oh yeah, the tracks in most demos are also so last decade, stop the euro rock and shit euro techno... if you want to push it foward, listen to some jeff mills or get some early cabaret voltaire.. maybe drexciya, autechre, susumu yokota, murcof... leaf label.. muslimgauze is another innovative artist, for fuck sake, the demo scene has to move on in terms of progression, the only group i respect kosmoplovci. the rest are 'seen it before and recycled' eye candy...
the problem is that the scene is dead
pardon my french, but if you feel like we all are making shite, get off your stupid arse and do something about it besides whining.
you need to download more ;)
"Everybody has their own taste", said cat when licking his own ass...
i agree with the jeff mills part;-)
the problem is that nowadays sceners only make demos for the money
First you say sceners copy each others styles too much then you suggest they copy the music style of Jeff Mills and other bands??
I don't know why the complaints becos there IS a lot of variation in demo music. Look at Popular demo, then look at demos like Mikrostrange, Dreamchild, Wonder, Amoeba, Planet Loop, Variform etc etc etc. Some of these varied styles you only get to hear in the scene.

ultimate gas: so, retrolectro and gay-disco are only available within the borders of the demoscene? oh sigh, broaden your vision you idiot.
and branca, if the only group you respect is "kosmoplovci", i guess you're a tasteless fucker. but i could've guessed that since no self-respecting person hails autechre for anything besides making incoherent boring noise.
and jeff mills is so.. commercial. nothing wrong with that, but don't pretend that nobody uses technoish beats.
in 4 words: shut the fuck up

oh and don't forget to check out a few nextempire demos, as they might appear very refreshing to you.
poor plek...
damned autechre-fans :(
branca: shut the fuck up. if you have something to complain do something yourself and stop whining. and about the music styles... i haven't seen many demos with "euro rock". and about jeff mills... you probably haven't even seen one of the best demos from last year (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=8282)
branca: "nothin but mother fucking copying each others design styles"
you bring Autechre as a followable example, but I tell you what: i've seen more Gantz Graf-"inspired" demos recently than any other style.
and if you saw recent euro-rock (which for me qualifies as "Bon Jovi"-style) demos, please post a link, 'cos i prolly missed them.
plek: what's wrong with autechre? :)

plek: autechre = incoherent noise now. have you ever heard 'amber' or 'Incunabula' by ae? If you haven't, try and then dare to judge. ae is a style. or rather was.
branca: if you are bored with styleless demos, be creative and do sth yourself by joining a group f.e. and doing sth together. btw. your post is too agresssssive, so expect agression =).

what's wrong with plek?
i guess i'm too square for obviously superior artsy elitists like you guys; another vision does not seem to exist in your world.

why isn't anyone ever dissing atari teenage riot?
what's wrong here? where are the rules editcting what the content of a demo should be? you like one, fine. download it and enjoy. you don't like another one? fine, you save hard drive space. ???
branca: if you think the groups are all copying each other and putting out all the same lame shit, all you need to do is put something new out and you'll be rich and famous.
And hey, what euro rock demos? not seen one of them for quite some time. And there are too few techno demos now imo. And too many autechre etc. clones.
Actually, I thought from the topic title this would be something more interesting than just another 'I like this specific style, and haven't bothered to download any demos like it. Go and make me some and post it to me cause i'm lazy' post. Perhaps the scene does need some direction, at the moment all groups are doing their own thing. If there was some cooperation to do some kind of huge project, or some shared goal, that could be good for the scene. Of course nobody would be forced to join, so the critics would be happy. Or perhaps if there were some fixed goal for compos (most abstract art demo, most techno demo, most realistic flyby maybe :)
Ok, those are pretty bad ideas, but at the moment, the scene is being pushed by outside forces, perhaps it should have it's own direction in some way.

Getting sceners to work together on one project is like trying to herd cats, it sounds like a good idea to start with but the poor bugger trying'll end up in a straitjacket before long! (Personally, i quite like the idea but lets not got there... =-)
Style holy wars have been happening since the first demos, as has already been said the simple solution to anyone with a problem with the "direction" the scene has is to shut the fuck up and do what they want to see 'cos no other bugger is obliged to listen. =-)

the main problem with demoscene nowadays is that, you sirs, are homos
Indeed, sir, we are indeed all homos. Homo sapiens. Some are homo sexual homo sapiens too. But not I sir, for I am a red-blooded man with a full appetite for the female form.
Tmr: maybe they'll listen if somebody has the right idea. Can't see that part happening though :) Actually, theres a simple way of pushing the scene in the right direction, and nobody needs to listen. Do a great demo in a new style, and every bugger'll copy.
