totally useless topic
category: general [glöplog]
Yes, using something that is totally useless makes no sense. We must abuse it.
of course. mmh... I feel that I should add something more consistent that "of course"; my problem is that I don't know what else to add than "of course", which doesn't simplify things here. omg... this topic is REALLY useless!
I'd like to add that i really have nothing to add to this useless topic, and that due to the useless nature of the topic, my post is also useless and adds nothing at all to the discussion.
I personnaly would like to add that I'm now LEAVING the office for the week end. I whish you a happy non sense posting session!
Arrrghhh!! I still have an hour of work to get through. But I'll have an extra hour in bed on monday :P
This topic is enough to entertain me. I am preety bored today.
I got a room yesterday for 3 months, the zwischenvermieter (not the owner, but the beetween buyer something, can't explain lol) would do me the contract, but he had a lot of German to read in that and couldn't, he said today. Today I woke up and he had left, he also forgot to give me the key. I sat down in my small bed and played Doom2 on GBA till he comes. I was at the stage before the end (The Living Hell) at the Nightmare mode and I finished it and then played it in the easy mode very fast just to make the hour go away. I was tired, my body was tired, sitting in front of a small dark screen without too much light (damn non-lighted GBA (not SP) screen!) playing a dark game ;PPP Then,. I left it and go to the coutch. But my body was tired and I was sleepy. I read a bit of a book I had, the Haunted World by Carl Sagan. Kind nice and interesting, almost finishing it, what I did when I had nothing here, for the moment.
Today, the Germans are feiern (how is the damn English word damn?) something today. And the place is closed and the Rechnerzentrum too, and the MENSA too. I eat some Kebap instead. There are a lot of them here in Karlsruhe. Also Chinesh but I haven't tried a CHinehs. So,. I can't even go to the Rechnerzentrum. Yesterday, I hat gedruckt a text saying how to do a CPC emulator. I wanted to do one and yesterday I was thought and watned today to go to the rechnerzentrum to start it in quickbasic. I know the Z80 and some basic things of CPC and I just wanted For fun experimentaly, but I can't..
So I am here at this netcafe, shitty netcafe, or telefeonic centrer, where it doesn't allow me to download something. There are phones but can't hear music, because it doesn't allow me download, shit! no nectarine. Instead, I loaded my old preoptimus page (http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/black/791/cworld0.htm) which plays a midi from casltevania. wo.w
but to repeatitive and stops after some times..
Netcafes are.. hmm. Thessaloniki has the best absolotuely, because outside Greece people have ADSL easy and inet is known. Thez don't kneed.
This is 2 Euros per Stunde. Like Greece. But I found one which was a steal! 6 Euros per hour!!! Fusck.
Perhaps when the university will start at 13 October and I will do that instead of laming on pouet, I will become a human. No,. but just an expression I heard from a friend ;)
For Pouet, I am sure that a lot of people will or not read, but it will have effect, big texts of me. But for Livejournal? I have no time. I should better go write that QBCPC emulator ;P

The longest useless post yet! Perhaps this topic can be reserved for blogtimus ;)
Btw:
Htf can I login on #pouet.net or #coders or #c-64 or #cpc from Deutschland? IRCnet can't login me, either from the internet stores or from the university! :P
Why can't I login in ebay.de? It says my daten doesn't much mit SCHUFA. When I do my Polizeilich Anmeldung now that I will take the contract of the room, and say I will be living in Karlsruhe as an Erasmus Student for 6 Monaten, will this SCHUFA have taken my Daten? Or??? Can't get it..

Something irrelevant: WTF are these Microsoft/internet error/150something kb messages, probably some virus, but I get 5 per day now!!! UGH! The internet is fucked up, I am going OUT!
I think I am at Ebay.de somehow now, but I am not reallz sure. Pfew.. canät stand it todaz
Lot of viruses recently saying it's an urgent update from microsoft etc. And if someone with your email address got it and installed it, it'll email you nice and regular till you install it :) Viruses are often nice like that. We had a member of staff here who had one, she had received a mail from a friend with a medical report attached... Turned out her friend's dad had died in greece, and the doctors had emailed the medical report about how he died to her. The virus then emailed it on to all her friends... how nice!
Optimus: as for irc, you may try opening an account at chat.ircnet.org
Im gonna poke my penis in the eye of this thread.
Fascinating facts about the invention of the Velcro by George de Mestral in 1948. VELCRO
For thousands of years, man has walked through fields of weeds and arrived home with burrs stuck to his clothing. It’s amazing no one took advantage of the problem until 1948. George de Mestral, a Swiss engineer, returned from a walk one day in 1948 and found some cockleburs clinging to his cloth jacket. When de Mestral loosened them, he examined one under his microscope. The principle was simple. The cocklebur is a maze of thin strands with burrs (or hooks) on the ends that cling to fabrics or animal fur. By the accident of the cockleburs sticking to his jacket, George de Mestral recognized the potential for a practical new fastener. It took eight years to experiment, develop, and perfect the invention, which consists of two strips of nylon fabric. One strip contains thousands of small hooks. The other strip contains small loops. When the two strips are pressed together, they form a strong bond. VELCRO, the name de Mestral gave his product, is the brand most people in the United States know. It is strong, easily separated, lightweight, durable, and washable, comes in a variety of colors, and won’t jam.

Who Was Nostradamus?
Nostradamus is the Latinized name of Michel de Nostredame, a physician and astrologer who lived in 16th-century France. The details of his life aren't always clear, and they are hotly debated among modern Nostradamus followers and critics. (This site claims that most of the accepted biography is pure myth).
Nostradamus (1503 - 1566)
It is generally agreed that Nostradamus was born in 1503, into an educated, well-to-do family of grain traders. Apparently, he was instructed in a wide range of academic subjects at an early age, including traditional sciences, math, languages (Latin, Greek and Hebrew) and astrology.
Nostradamus also received a broad religious education. His father's side of the family was Jewish but had converted to Roman Catholicism, either when Nostradamus was young or sometime before he was born. By some accounts, this heritage led Nostradamus to study Jewish scriptures, as well as the books of the New Testament. Throughout his life, according to legend, Nostradamus was interested in the apocalyptic prophecies in the Book of Revelation, as well as Kabbalah, a mystical branch of Judaism.
According to most biographies, Nostradamus left home in 1522 to study medicine in Montpellier. After completing his education, he briefly worked as a professor of medicine, before practicing as a physician throughout southern France. Over the years, he gained some renown in his treatment of bubonic plague sufferers. Through encouraging proper sanitation and developing innovative medicines, he was able to heal some seriously ill patients (though he lost his children and his first wife to plague in 1538).
In the late 1540s, Nostradamus remarried and moved to Salon, a French city near the Mediterranean coast. Over the following decade, he dedicated his attention to formulating prophecies, primarily regarding battles and disasters in the years to come. These ominous warnings gained him wide notoriety throughout Europe

Well y'know if you're so bored you might as well educate yourself about something.....anything!!!
iirc velcro is actually combined from the words "velour" (which means velvet in french) and "crochet" (which means hook)

*ahem*
I thought up this great idea for a new effect (or at least I've never seen it done) while pondering about Chaos/Sanity creating the rotozoomer:
Have a 3D object in as photorealistic a scene as possible (paste it in with proper lighting?). Then remove the lighting effects so it's just a textured object, then remove textures, then just the polyframe, then wireframe, then an outline and then remove the outline. Synch to music. Bonus points if the object is rotating or moving in the scene. And of course, you can have it reappear the same way.
I'd do it but I kant' kowde.
Also, are there any periodic table -related demos? Like, as background images showing squares from the chart as in those symbols in Global Trash 2?
(Then at the end, you can spell your greetings in Elements= F Ar Br Au S C H, H Au (j) O B B, C O N S P Ir Ac Y, Po Ti O N, B Y Te Ra P Er S, A Nd, etc )

CaPaNNa used to start their demos by lsting the elements whose abbreviations spelled their name.
