Ods: I don't only do essential things in life. But drugs is definitely not among the unessential things I do. :-)
Optimus: it's true

MRI: i won't disagree with you about that!
Yes: My opinion is: If it's your own decision, then I respect it or I find it even good :)
I used to get drunk a lot when I was younger. But recently, I calmed down a lot :) Actually, I think alcohol/drugs are fine if you take small amounts. Like alcohol, drinking tons is bad for your health, you often wake up with strange injuries, and do some stuff thats really embarrasing. Then, as punishment, you get the hangover too... And you can have just as much fun as that getting just fairly drunk, and not have any bad effects.
Same with weed, smoking a lot every day gives you mental problems when you're older, plus big risk of cancer... smoking it less often gives you a bigger high plus i think you appreciate it more.
Psycadelics - yes, definately a mind-expanding experience, especially if you do it in the right circumstances. Again though, mental problems if you take a lot. I knew a guy ages ago, who was doing a lot of acid and also smoking weed, he had some kind of breakdown and had to stay in hospital for a while. After that, his IQ went down a LOT, and he was really docile.

drinking tips are so teenage.
No, drinking tips are what you really need but ignore when you're teenage, and know but don't need when you're older.
Drinking tips were interesting for me :)
please excuse our ignorance, but babel fish translation service and myself can't understand what "drinking tips" means. could anyone humbly tell us what it is about?
drinking = consuming vast quantities of alcoholic drinks
tips = small bits of advise to help you get the best possible experience

mmh yes i see. i knew what drinking and tips meant separatly, but i couldn't cleary understand what they meant when put together. i see the light now. has anyone a whisky bottle and some good bits of advice?
Just a bottle of water (i'm at work). My advice though... pour the whole bottle into a pan, and boil it. Inhale the steam.
Not sure if it'll work or not, but at least you'll have tried it before you die.

well, no offense, but i'll wait i whish to die to try this! are you sure you're at work? i always see you on pouet ;-)
My desk is hidden from everyone else, and I have fast pc + 2 tfts + 10mb internet link, does that answer it :)
that's quite fun: i have a hidden desk, a (pretty) fast pc and a 10mb internet link too! so yes, it DOES answer it ;-)
I think the following are requirements for a scener's job:
Hidden desk
Fast PC, decent graphics card, speakers, big monitor
Fast internet connection
Boss should preferably be either another scener or a sucker. Mine seems to think I need some kind of uber-pc to work on (actually I just need more memory, but he's ordering a dual-xeon workstation at around €5000!!! wtf??)
Airconditioning in summer (this i miss badly)
Heating in winter (here, the heating is left on in the summer!)
Somebody downloading films, music and software all day and sharing the folder :)

Continue complaining, and most people will kick your head in :)

Blah, true elites work from home.
But anyway, I think there's nothing funny about intoxicating animals. Ok, the result can be amusing but making your pets booze or chew weed is just sick.

- My desk is not hidden (unfortunately, I want to change that when we change office)
- I have a decennt PC with decent graphics card, 4 JBL Control28 Speakers and a 21" monitor
- 1mbps internet connection
- I'm the boss :-D
- I have air conditioning but it was working pretty bad this summer :(
- No need for heating, although I have it
- I have my films and music needs served from my workmate and my brother, software, I do that myself :-)

DiamonDie: "elite" isn't the first word that spring to mind when thinking about "working from home" :p
elite don't need to work ;-)
DiamonDie: fully agree with you about animals...

sure we do
Gargaj: I'm not complaining about that, no way :) Well, ok, I should be allowed to choose the gfx card, I can garantee it'll be a pile of shit. I'm just amazed that he thinks I need such a powerful machine, when I've stated that my machine is fast enough now, and just needs more ram in it! As another example, he's recently bought me a brand new server, despite me saying that the current server runs perfectly and just needs an extra disk or two. Crazy.
Personally, I think working from home sucks a lot. It's great if you do it a few days a week, but not all the time. You miss being with all the others in the office, you're no longer part of a team... and apart from that, it's really hard to stop your office invading the rest of your house, it's hard to keep discipline, and it's hard to stop working and be with your family when you should do if you have a tight deadline.

Uhm,. suddenly this discussion about super-duper PCs becomes boring. I think a CPC is enough for beeing 1337 =)
