gkmotu: Neil already contacted me. I admit that I've seen the picture and I was inspired to change the cross section on the head. Before that "Twister" (the bot) looked like a hemisphere with one eye, which was very dull. I promised Neil that he will have a special thanks in the main credit part. I'm sorry that this was somehow a "dirty discovery". The only good thing is that now I've got a contact with Neil, who is an awesome artist.

It seems that everything goes well. I've got a prove of concept for my memory decreasing approach. Despite some minor artifacts to remove, we only need to make 8 different translations of some simple texts appearing in the menu and credits. After that we're ready to go.

I can't decide whether the comments on that site frustrate me to no end or cause a warm feeling about some possibility of new sceners.
Preacher: haha - that's the exact same kind of feeling I got from readnig the comments :) - let's see when the final demo is out on PSN. However I am pretty sure that Playstation should not charge for the demo, since it would make people choose to buy something else that this demo I think.
"Playstation" should of course have been "Sony"...
To a certain point I think we missed the train in terms of viral marketing: we probably should be a lot more active behind the scenes, in various forums, to disseminate the demoscene virus ;)

Of course pouet is always the first place when I got news about "Lingerie in Shadows". As for the possibility of new sceners. I would count more on couple of new scene watchers, which is also a neat thing because they're mostly spreading the word on forums. If we would like to get some new sceners that are active and make productions I think we need to convince young ones from gamedev.net forums. They're creative and that's most important. But they don't know the most important thing. That making a demo is 100 times easier than making a game which you can put into portfolio or sth like that.
On my side, the seed has been planted on polish gamedev.pl and I'm counting
for about 6~8 4K intros to appear this weekend for the small compo we've organized. I think that it will be a great warm-up for them before Riverwash in August.

I "planted the seed" in Gamedev PT but the people who paid any attention to it were already aware of the demoscene and just drooled and kept on with their lives...
I'm not terribly sold on the idea that programmers interested in "game" development are the crowd most likely to have a lasting interest in the demoscene.
The idea behind it is, that they're generally interested in programming graphics and because gamedev forums are currently most active they're easily sucked into it. I don't want to start a discussion that demoscene doesn't have an appropriate welcoming technical forum for newbies. I just want to retrieve some abandoned souls and show them the right path :). The world still have creative minds but it also have a lot of different creative communities to offer. Back in our times demoscene was one of the best (if not the only) opportunity to start with digital art.
knos: au contraire - personally i'd say that one of the biggest growth areas in recruitment for the scene is people now working in gamedev who had an interest in the scene 10-15 years ago and rediscovered it recently. and also people working in gamedev who get sucked into the scene by sceners working with them in gamedev. :)
