Okay problem nearly solved then, now let's work on getting SoLo2 to fuck off.
what's wrong with solo2? he's like the best device to avoid downloading a bad demo.

We need more people like solo2. I have managed to not download as many demos as in the past due to his comments! =)

So,

Scamp will not only be remembered for organizing the greatest demoparty ever, but also for being the guy "who killed that diskmag back then".

No matter how pissed you were, but putting Adok, EP and Magic together in the same sack and start beating them up was all too easy and IMO the wrong approach to this matter. When reading words like "witch hunt" or "bullying" they exactly described what I felt about this, so I second what Archmage wrote some pages ago. Adok and EP are quite some bastards if anything told and written in this thread and others is correct, but lining up Magic in a row together with them just doesn´t fit, so I fully understand and agree about the anger for Adok and EP, but I don´t approve with the approach you chose.

Magic might be someone who can get on one´s nerves, but who ain´t? Any reasonable person still would have to admit that all his comments, questions and approaches are just significant for the simple fact that he not only loves but adores the scene and everything scene-related. Him asking questions via IRC during a seminar (which was obviously responsed to f.ex. with aware and knowing laughter) just shows the infinite passion he has for the matter. OK, he might be a pain in the ass to some of you sometimes (or even often) but anyone involved in the scene should just embrace the fact that there are ppl that passionate. Passion is the fuel that keeps you going.

It is good to see that both of you at least still show reason – and some respect for each other. Without Magic HUGI most likely will die and vanish, let´s hope that Magic along with all the other contributors (whose names are not EP or Adok) will keep up their work and contribute to other mags instead.

Peace,
Sir.

Search the intarweb for the painter Dolcette. His paintings will give you some ideas.
I'm getting the idea EP is the main villain here, but what has Adok done wrong? He always seemed like a cool guy to me and his ego...well, that's a common persona of many diskmag editors dating back to Lord Helmet.

SIR: I see your point. Magic as an individual may be far less of a problem than Adok and EP (he's "just" trolling instead of causing actual harm and grief), but OTOH to me it really was about time to put all three of them into said sack and beating that up heavily. After all, the members of the Hugi team not feeling at all responsible if other members of their team repeatedly going postal is/has been a huge part of the problem - I guess you'll agree with that.

Magic now no longer wanting to be associated with that is a good thing. As can be seen from this thread very clearly once again, Adok is not going to take any responsiblity for whatever harm his team is causing. Isolating him probably won't suddenly make Adok change to the better - however it hopefully it will make him unable to further provide a platform to people who are an actual danger to others.

So, I'm aware that my style putting pressure onto Hugi might not be liked by many. But seriously, to me it's more important that the EP-threat imported to the scene by Adok gets under control and it's made sure Adok is unable to import more of such lunatics in the future. As can be seen from this thread many people who have been victims of EP are even afraid to say something about it, as they don't wish to get back on his radar. For a community as ours this is a completely unacceptable situation, and IMHO quite a bunch of people should think about if it was OK to let it come this far without trying to step in to stop this themselves.

Interesting move indeed, Magic. Now you managed to surprise me bigtime.

Scamp: that sounds reasonable and diplomatic enough for me. I agree.

Adok still doesn´t convince when he says that EP won´t be published on HUGI #35 (may it be because that issue won´t ever see the light of day or EP´s articles would have been postboned for #36 ;) - the articles were the smaller problem as anyone had the choice whether to read them or not - but kicking out (death)threats or writing "anonymous" letters in order to bring parts of the community down is not only "crossing the line" - it is something that should be condemned by simply everyone, even by Adok, which he still does not. And his explanations WHY he doesn´t sound poor to me.

So pulling off all support from such a platform is the only way to shut it down. That is why Magic´s decision is and should be highly respected and should go as an example for all other editors who contributed to it in the past.

Cheers,
Sir.

Why do you keep insisting to limit your "non-publishing" to this single issue?
added on the 2008-04-22 10:23:18 by gloom gloom
Gloom: maybe that's not what the man meant - I was fooled enough and read it as "Ok, it won't be published (and the next issue is #35, jsyk...)", but I suppose he could put a spin on it that way - genius, really.

If what he REALLY wants is the weight of the anger of pretty much every scener reading Pouet on his shoulders, that is...
Sorry, totally forgot Billie in my post.

Here she is:
