there's been a chat with Adok on #pouet.net a while ago. as seen here, he (personally) distances from EP's actions; yet he does not clarify that Hugi distances from EP.. in fact, he takes EP's own initiative 'to quit it all' as argument why we wont see articles from him in future Hugis..

It would be nice if hugi still would distance themselves from all this. However, that doesnt change much to the problem, being that EP (on his own) contacts people with his utter nutjob crap... in fact, if Hugi would drop him, his hatred and consequent silly actions might even intensify. oh well.

Am I the only one that doesn't get this sentence?

magic, saying you won't accept any articles are "hurtful to sceners" (whatever the hell that means) is not the same as saying "we will never accept any articles written by this lunatic, period." So which is it? Will you accept his article if he writes about fluffy kittens, or will you reject any article with his name on it?

Seriously, how about simply telling Adok, Magic etc. to get fucked and ignore them from now on?

Hugi's "main editor" has proven time and time again that he's one of the most socially inept persons on this planet and that this won't ever change because he actively refuses to accept getting a clue (or anything else, in fact) from people he considers inferior, that is: people not crawling up his ass.

That Adok is not even thinking about taking a stand concerning this "issue" fits into the pattern nicely. Saying anything against EP or even admitting mistakes would in essence be admitting that he was or is wrong. Which is something you'll never see him do, as in his own little world this concept doesn't even exist. And even if all facts speak against him (as eg. in this case) and though he's intelligent enough to realize, he still won't. Instead he will get silent and spew out some bullshit that in his view rectifies his position or makes the problem go away. Thus the "EP doesn't want to write articles any more". It's just a cover up to enable him to forget about this whole problem before it would force him, to (*gasp*) reflect upon his own decisions.

Then on the other hand nobody will miss Hugi anyway. None of the core writers has any noteable connection to the scene (and no, releasing one bad ascii pic per two years doesn't count), more that half of the articles are nothing but studies in inflated egos and deluded world views, and the few people accidentally submitting good stuff should easily be persuaded to support Pain or Zine instead.

So how about simply ignoring Hugi from now on. If a new issue comes out - so what. Don't read it, don't comment on it ("tl;dr" [sucks] would be funny tho ;), simply let the stale bubble that is Adok's ego burst, and perhaps we'll all live in peace then. The other choice (letting it live) would be allowing this safe haven for sociopaths and lunatics to exist and continuing to continuously deal with the problems arising from that. Your choice.

I guess he forgot to change this when he decited to quit which he wrote us on the 30th of march , so perhaps this is just a stir in a glass of water. (again we dont have anything to do with this)

if he , however put it there on purpose, sceners would also point there fingers on hugi, while its ONLY EP him doing this supid stuff he is doing.

okay... i simply can't sit and keep my mouth shut any longer. I work a bit in PR and marketing, and I have to say that with this thread only, Hugi had excellent opportunities to gain a LOT of credibility if it had reacted properly. Instead, Adok decided not to react very much at all. The best reaction in this was Magic's, I have to admit.

I have to repeat that you had a perfect-match kind of conditions to gain credibility. After your best issue ever with Hugi 34 I completely find it inacceptable that you did NOT react in a responsible way with this thread. With a single post you could have made everyone listen up and admit that you reacted well. Instead, you didn't. It's the best opportunity you ever had. For quite some time.

To me, and now i'm strictly personally speaking, it seems like you're not yet WILLING to take more responsibility in the scene for what you do. You claim on your website that you are the "leading free electronical magazine of the PC scene", yet you fail to step up to the responsibility.
