Ripped music list
category: general [glöplog]
Okay, just out of interest, I would like to make a list of demos which feature ripped commercial music, be it credited or uncredited in the production. Please don't let this turn into a debate about the moral issues involved in using ripped music. Okay, I will start with some obvious ones:
Demo : Baygon by Melon Dezign
Track : Back 2 School by Twista
Demo : State Of Mind by Bomb!
Track : State Of Mind by Senser

there's like 1000 of old c64 demos that used tunes made by someone else outside the releasing group. don't make me list all of them.
Dalezy, are you talking about music that was ripped from games/other demos?
pete, exactly.
Ah, okay. Well I was more talking about commercial tracks. I guess I could have been clearer in my wording.
What about remixes? That could include a whole era of rave demos.

By the Gods of ripped music, bringing a new world record of 5 ripped tracks in just one single demo and making it the lamest act of ripping crediting themselves for the music:

Demo: Toys
Tracks: Anastasia, Star Trek

gargaj: here is what i heard from sol:
> En Haluaisi Olla Damage 2000 Assembly
This demo uses copyrighted music. The composer gave the right to use the music in the demo, but he didn't own the rights anymore, so he had no right to do so.
Speaking of ripped with permission, let's add:
Demo: Metropol by Neonray & Throb
Music: Metropol by Lunatic Calm
And some without:
Demo: Just a Touch of Funk by Digital Murder
Music: Shake It by L A Connection
Demo: Noir by Squoquo
Music: Closer by Numb
Demo: Koetterdaemmerung by SquoQuo
Music: Soul of Ice by Blutengel
Some others I can't put a song title on at the moment:
Medium
Raw Confessions
Shad 2
Untamed
Platipus
That should keep you busy for now.

once again!!! Platipus haven't ripped music!
yup. afaik the music in platipus is from a band who are close friends or someone's involved. at least it's not simply taken from some cd.
wasn't the track in "koetterdaemmerung" a remix ? actually I wouldn't call that ripping. not sure though.

phoenix: Don't know about the actual thing behind En Haluaisi Olla... I heard it's not ripped, but whatever.
However...
Raw Confessions tho WASN'T ripped. The song was written by Syl East, with vocals by Simon Robinson, lyrics by Nytrik and Tenshu.
Untamed's song was written by Infinite Reboot and his friend, both playing in a belgian metal band called Eject.
Shad2's music was ripped from a slovenian band called Coptic Raind, the first song was called "Fantom" (kind of a cover of Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera), the second was called "Painted Bird", a cover of the Siouxsie and the Banshees song.
Medium's music was a mix of several musics:
'Continue' (G-Man), 'The Real' (Thomas Krome & Adam Beyer mix), 'Neoplex' (Ultratubes)
(you can see the list at the end of the demo)
Not every metal-demo has ripped music, dude :)
