What's the story behind the Plastic PS3 demo?
category: offtopic [glöplog]
heh evil will always flow on a water's surface :). Yeah I admit that this was a mistake, which (except for the Debevec probes issue :P ) will not happen again. I won't be a president now.
ripping music isn't a problem when fully credited, see the allmighty vip2 (hehehe) ;p

insectecutor: damn! now that you mention it, i started noticing things too. it has clouds, like sts 04 does. and it runs on playstation, like gran turismo. and it has buildings, like the town of bradford has buildings. and it has a cat, like i have a cat. and it has music, like the beatles made music. the whole demo is basically a massive rip :(
Thanks for that but I wasn't trying to suggesting anything was ripped off or that my connections were particularly astonishing, I was just trying to find some references or salutes to other demos in here. I got the impression that the greets were somehow concealed in the scenes and the interactive parts allowed you to find them.
The story makes little sense to me and I'd be interested in finding out what's meant to be going on. I know it doesn't have to convey any kind of meaningful story or message but after all that effort to render realistic scenes it seems a waste not to.
bonzaj: Congrats! And it's nice to see that you changed your mind since 2years ago on Breakpoint, when you tried to persuade me(?)/us to do stuff for PC :)
ReJ: he he thanks, I was looking forward for your new production - I hope I'll see it soon on any platform :)
I stumbled upon the best gamer comment on linger in shadows:

I watched it, and wrote down some notes as to how that stuff could be implemented in cool ways.
0:50 - Those 3D fractals could be used in a next-gen Katamari interestingly.
1:05 - Cloud people. maybe a neato God of War boss?
1:50 - undulating smoke. higher-res smoke grenades in shooters
2:37 - wierd, twisting pipes. could be used as dynamically changing environments in a platformer
3:30 - black cloud of bat creatures. if PS3 ever gets a Gears of War clone, those owuld make great Kryll
5:08 - now I want a game that lets me play as a first-person dog who flies through space
6:00 - Shadow of the Colossus-style monster in a fully destructable city? holy shit that's awesome. speaks for itself.
Now, getting a development team to implement that in a game with full physics, collision and logic is a whole other problem.
Disclaimer: I laughed
So Nesnausk is the 2nd group? Cool! Who are the 3rd? :D
So close, but so far...
We have not seen anything from TBL for a long time

Zplex: your handle is quite similar to Durex. Are you a by-product?
Well no need to post random images guys?
I saw that the demo which i think is cool had a "for my eyes" duped or heavily inspired by a Friends image, so I told Neil and showed him.
The head with the hair is heavely inspired by his image ( as you can see ), and i think doing a dog or a sky or a chrane is fine, but i dont think its fine not to salute a creative artist who creates unique material which isnt a dog or a cloud or something.
