breakpoint 2008

409 valid ones seems to be the number
I'll chime in on the badges. Part of why I wear the towel is so folks can find me/identify me; it's pretty easy with 'guy with towel.' It was again possible this year because 'fat guy with towel' vs 'guy with towel and robe' made it possible to tell Paniq and I apart for those without previous knowledge of which of us is which.
However, the reverse is often NOT true. Heck I had a full 5 minutes when I could NOT remember Minas' name. Sure, I know who he is. I know the group, I know what he's done, WHAT IS HIS NAME AAAUGH. (Minas: Yes I know, so I'll have to get it at Buenzli.)
Name tags would help not only the problem of temporary brain flatulence, but also in cases where someone like Mice comes up and you can't remember if it's Mice or if it's Buzzer. Oh wait, Nametag! I'm saved, I don't just remember Serpent today. (Who I may have trouble with next time because both he and Romeo knight have similar haircuts.)
And, yeah. I'm rather fond of taking something home from the partyplace that says "this year's party" and since I seem to NEVER manage to get a tshirt home (if I buy it early I somehow lose it or t doesn't come in Truck size, if I buy it late it's ... already sold! aaaugh!) so heck, I'd be willing to throw down some cash to arrange for these nametags.

I volunteer for the organisation of nametags next year (if Scamp wants).
Truck: Romeo is the 1 meter taller guy :)
Badges = Essential
Badges = Essential
Serpent: And you are the one who constantly has jokes made about your pants.
Truck: Actually it's the other evil brs'ers who constantly keep on with that (like in music compo infos) ;)
Bubble Bobble on friday evening :)
yes, we wanted to do optional name tags this year, but later forgot about them. Will be put on our 2009 to-do list. However, I only think nametags should be done in addition to the wristbands - the problem is that badges or nametags have a high risk of getting lost (from our VIPs/orgas I'd guess 10% get lost during the party), using them as proof for paid entrance fee therefore is a bad idea - the wristbands are next to impossible to get lost.
I bet some even manage to achieve that!
thanks to everyone who was involved in making breakpoint happen again.
the quality of the releases seems to have raised a bit since last year,
having badges for the next year really seems like a nice idea, i'm sure that this year i've missed half of the people i wanted to meet, or, in some cases, didn't know who i was actually talking to. =)

Silly Doomy! Dalezy wears not the white t-shirt! Evar!
scamp: I fully agree, the badge needs to be in addition of the wristband. I don't think anyone will mind that.
At the end of the party, I was KB/FR.
i was bombe/beamteam
It was such a fantastic party that we had, thanks to everyone who made it possible!

Attention winners of the Intel software licenses: Don't active your licenses yet. There seems to be some screw-up on Intel parts - if you try to activate those licenses, they'll activate as time-limited trials. Which is not exactly what was announced by Intel. We'll talk to Intel on what went wrong and how they are going to fix the situation.
the party rocked so much. still i have to send fuckings to the guy putting beer in my laptop (killing the keyboard if not more), and extra fuckings to the shouter-users that just wouldnt stop their "funny" activities even at 6:30 a.m.
but apart from that: best party in a long time :)

I ended up being Locke / Eventteam after being several other people. I found my badge back though :)
