im sorry but i cannot agree with you this time. :) serious vs funny does not automatically mean serious should win. a production (like paul's 64k) can be funny and still be very good, innovative and technically quite clever.
i just hope the pc 64k scene takes it as a massive kick up the ass. i had hoped that last year's quite low quality of 64ks overall would be fixed this year, but it hasnt been so. come on, you got beaten by a spectrum demo, it's time to make something good. :)

Smash : indeed, I totally agree. It's pleasant, funny and technically interesting. I would never have thought of including a basic emulator in a 64k intro, if that's what Evilpaul really did :)

the results of the 64k pc intro were spot on. Conspiracy's demo was very very well made, but the one from ate byte was also very original, with attention to detail and with highly entertaining music. It was fun but it was not scheisse-style winnerdemo. I was happy to see them win.

what Smash and Navis said.. the demo compo was interesting this year due to the innovation and variety of styles adopted which is great for the scene in general. Evilpaul's intro has style, technicality and a sense of humour (as with all atebit prods), this is how it should be.. so, look, listen and learn from this years breakpoint, its a good thing. If you cant see it and dont get the message portrayed, you really dont get the scene at all.

There's one thing I'd like to ask/suggest. Am I the only one who would have liked it if everyone wore a badge, like the orgas or VIPs? I missed so many people at the party simply because I didn't know what they look like. And if there was an official badge, I think most people would wear it. People won't make their own ones, so I think it should be handed out by the orgas.

I know about the logistical problems regarding such a thing but maybe this could be solved. Would just like to know if other people out there would appreciate this too.

The same. On Oxyron Party, they have out badges that were included in the entrance fee. Additionally they handed out Stickers where you could fill in your Name and Group. (Hint! Hint! Cheap alternative! *wink*)
