When 500 download packs have been sold, a high-quality version of the album is going to be released openly, creative commons licenced, as usual.

Yeah, I don't really get this construction either. I understand wanting to make some money back, but either go all the way and keep selling the album for 5e, or make it free and get some kind of donation button or sell t-shirts or something.

okkie, the model i chose is one of the standard models to pay for free content. you do not only get a copy of the album, you also contribute to the free availability of it.

And if you can't compare demos with your music, why then is it advertised on pouet.net?

Because people like us may like it or may want to support a fellow scener? Sorry, but I really don't see the problem if a scener advertises some of his "commercial" work here (f.e. Metapat also advertised his new comic here and nobody seemed to mind about that one).

I completely agree that he should charge whatever he wants, I don't care. Still, if he would make valves and promote it here, it would be considered spam, but because it is music it isn't. I don't get the logic behind that :)

What the hell are you talking about? Do you guys really think that selling some units of a quality work to get back the production costs is something shameful?

This is really an odd behavior to think that music set free in every aspects is the normal way of consuming it. Making and spreading your music has a cost especially if you don't do a leaving of it.

I am not saying it should be free!

But if you can advertise music that has to be paid for on pouet.net, then why not other things, like the 3d editor by LCF, or every other business. That's just the only thing I don't get :) What is the difference?
