demoscene: hire this man!
category: general [glöplog]
yes, bring true oldskool scene back!!
There's a lot of incredibly good graphicians on gfxartist.com, conceptart.com and even some on deviantArt. They're everywhere, and the scene has way too few of them. But that's hardly news. I for one am glad the scene has a focus on original art.
p01: There's not much difference between the different versions of PS. Literally the only reason I use CS2 and not 7.0 is that CS2 lets you customize the keyboard shortcuts.

It's good, but not old skool enough keops!
I give it a puppy!

Doom: I know ;) I'm using 7.0 on my old laptop, have CS2 at work and CS3 lying on an external HDD ( I mainly used it to make panoramas. It's Photomerge is much better than CS2's ).
The grid deformation could be handy some times.

It could. But it's just sick that they can get away with making so few changes with every version. Would be nice to have a shortcut for changing the brush size in the Liquify filter, for example, but nooooo. Or a little bit of hardware acceleration. Would be so obivious to use pixelshaders for a lot of the stuff that's too slow in Photoshop now (working with large brushes etc.). And would it be so hard to make so you could rotate the canvas? Grrr Adobe make me angry.
ID: Just use Painter if you want to rotate. Or your own thumb.
Suck on this!!
Broderick: HOLY FUCK!! That's blown me away! No doubt it'll get slated for being copied but that's impressive as hell!
How does "demoscene" and "hire" comply?
