Walter Ruttmann - Lichtspiel Opus I (1921) dont know if its the same actually..And its not the ones i meant but the first parts look very demoish.. there are also more ones there.. but indeed the demosceners were fun.. they must have been taken some timetravelling machine (or some partydrugs)..

maybe you think it was one of us... i mean names like walter ruttmann and oskar fishinger sounding very scenish =)) so it maybe that one of us here have developed a time machine and acted back as those guys... =)

In 1590, Gregorio Comanini described an invention by the Mannerist painter Arcimboldo of a system for creating color-music based on apparent luminosity (light-dark contrast) instead of hue.

There you go. First scener lived around 1590.

I love the cube sliding across the screen at the beginning. The scene is born.

if I had the skills, I'd be tempted to edit a "hund" into the video..

Monroe wanted to put this in English on the planned online portal for SCEEN, which was unfortunately stopped.

This was called experimental movies, there was a first active area between 1920-1939, and then around 1965. This was a *scene* with many people involved. You can find a lot older stuffs than fischinger. I remember watching a conference on this in the 90's at the university: you got some people behind the fx of fantasia behind it, the guy of the james bond movie's titles, terry gilliam's cartoon for the monty python was hugely copied on a girl from that scene also.... I remember having seen *a lot* of astounding short films from many different artists from that scene at the conf. Not mentionning some where using led tables to make pixel-based screens in the 60's, with blitter-line effects !!! (first screen bitmaps on computer: 1971) . There was also guys that pissed on their reels to make effects !
