hmmm i'm pretty sure that "noooooooooooooooooo" :) (considering that I think I have somewhere in my appartment some releases of MWNN that are 10 years old.. if i'm not wrong)
I'd say psytrance/goa was what got me into electronic music in the first place (besides demos) in 1999. Especially the Beyond the Infinite album by Juno Reactor. Since then I've began to like almost all kinds of electronic music from EBM to happy HC, but goa is still my favorite genre. And Juno Reactor my favorite electronica artist. Their gigs are the best rock gigs I've been to. ;-P Everyone should try Juno before giving up on this genre.

But like others have said, there are many different kinds of psytrance. I like goa and suomisoundi (for the most part), but I can't really stand listening to a lot of the monotonic full on by artists like GMS, or the equally monotonic Russian dark psy... ugh. It's a very wide genre and even if you love some of it you might well hate other styles.

There's nothing better than a Finnish forest party with some excellent psy trance playing. Not even a demoparty. :-P

aren't those finnish forest parties like an anti-modern trend that tries to revive ancient bacchanalia/orgies and connect again with ancient mysticism linked to famous nordic mythology ?

i wish there were some in france (maybe there are and i'm not aware of them) instead of trendy urban gigs or 'not subtle' teknovals (turnt into sarkovals...), suiting areas aren't lacking :p

I think they'd really much like to be that but instead turn out to be places to get wasted on legal and illegal intoxicating substances.

Those finnish forest parties are starting to sound interesting!
try some "suomi sound" -psytrance like squaremeat, texas faggot or haltya if listening to the same bass note for 6+ minutes isn't your taste ;)

try "suomisaundi" if you want to listen shitty uninspired music sounding like shit with some weird samples and gimmicks

My favorites of Finnish psy artists (besides TF, of course) are Mandalavandalz, Unlive, Torakka and Egosentrifug. If you think that suomisoundi is just lofi oversampled "humor" shit like unssi and many others think, get the song High Altitude from here: http://www.mikseri.net/artists/?id=23049 Too bad no one has made a goa demo based on that.

About Finnish forest parties, there was a guy named Ior Bock who was into weird mythology and stuff like that (I don't know about orgies, but he endorsed autofellatio for "spiritual reasons" or something like that), and he also organized plenty of forest parties. But then he got paralyzed and moved to Goa. I don't think he was the among the folks who started the whole thing here in the late 80s, but I could be wrong. About some of the people getting wasted on intoxicating substances, I don't see how that's so different from a demoparty. The perma-fried acidheads you sometimes bump into aren't so different from the astus you see at demoparties. Mostly harmless.

P.S. I'm pretty sure that yes, Man With No Alias got his nick from MWNN.

We were supposed to go to one of those Namaste parties while in the Netherlands in the summer, but in the end we were just too tired and didn't have the energy (pretty lame, yes, but we had spent most of the day on foot in Rotterdam). Should have planned better. :-P

I'm having a very confusing time trying to imagine you at Namaste.
