Remember seeing him at TG94 or 95 for the first time. Allways watching demos. Didnt know he had suicide tendancies. But I never really talked that much too him. Really Tragic :(

I remember having him in the car at Evoke 03, where we made fun of him by leaving him behind for a few hundred meters on the Autobahn because he had to take a piss and the traffic was starting to clear up again.

He's always been pretty damp and dreary for reasons most of Germany can understand. Unlike him, most of Germany leaves depressions about the state of the culture behind when growing up, because there are things that can not and will not change. You can ignore them (looking like a popstar, for example), if you have ways to get along without adapting to them -- Crest did not. He was unwilling to adapt or even change. He is probably better off dead than alive.

However, I feel sorry for the enthusiasm (even though it wasn't productive enthusiasm) he has shown and for the love for demos he had.

It's not the demoscene's fault at all. The scene has given him what he longed for, at least in some aspects of his life. Rest in peace.

Shit. Strange. Weird. Absurd. Laughed upon during his life, gaining on value with his death...

I wonder, was his life painful, or did he just feel it was senseless? He didn't ever make an impression as if he was begging for help - the thing that noone ever says, but sometimes i can see that in the eyes of people... the way those look at others. I'd say, i'm usually good at this kind of things, yet i noticed nothing special with him at Evoke.

I hadn't heard his announcement of suicide. If i had, i would have probably tried to talk to him. However, i don't want to feel sorry now. Too many people i have alredy felt sorry for not being able to help... i just cannot use one more. And as has been said, great effort has been gone throgh to help him, with no apparent use.

That a person takes hes own life is always realy sad, its horrible that it have to end this way! that there were no help for you, that i went this far! my thoughs are with you and your family and hope that your pain is gone now, and that you can enjoy the place were you are now... Rest in peace..

Only exchanged a few words at last year's tUM, quite strange words i might add. But Crest's party reports were always something to enjoy, seemed like endless journey and talks... Definitely will miss that.

Some people were beyond saving. I have the idea that Crest was one of them and that, without the demoscene, he would have commited these acts a lot sooner. Lets be happy for that extention/target in life "we" gave him.
