you don't need an amiga, simply use an old PC with 2 floppy disk controller (like old P166 tower)

Ah, ok so it was the inability to boot from a FFS floppy under KS 1.3 (for instance) that I remember. Thanks for clearing it up (and laughing your asses off) for me :)
