Yes ladies and gentlemen, who is the first on the demoscene? :)

hopefully nobody
magic: there's already ( JavaScript ) demos that could run in Safari.
jesusphone ... here .. too :(
Every devaice that claims to have the friequency range of 20 to 20 000 hz i always presume is a piece of shit, and none of those specks are relevant to coding, how does knowing the width of it help you make a demo?
magic, this is a closed platform ...
however, if you're thinking about javascript well hopefully nobody

alumuum: well 20...20k sounds feasible for the headphone output. Tests with older iPod models show a significant falloff above 16kHz tho, but who knows, perhaps they're using better D/As now.
The only thing I like in jesusphone is that dual touch screen thingy... that and maybe the battery life. Ipod was also a closed platform before it was possible to run linux on it.
nice device to play h.264 captures of demos on tho :)
apple will probably give an SDK for windows that comes with a sneaky version of iTunes, Quicktime (changing your default 'open with..' of all media formats to use this garbage) and god knows what else...
Every cheap piece of audio equipment claims 20-20k the really nice gear is never exactly within the boundries, i am just supprised that iphone would go the made in china route.
Another pity is that their business model doesnt allow for expansion slots, sd or whatever.

CPU? Speed?
google ?
ipods suck
An iphone is like $4000 including the plan.. Nice rip off.
its all about marketing / deisign... i doubt people would bother making a demo for it..
besides you probably can't get the dev kit or SDK for it.. apple are good at keeping things to themselves..
only reason they port things is if money is involved.. e.g. itunes..
they took logic off the pc .. so since then i disowned them and bought cubase 4 instead... sod em, why should i be forced to buy a mac.

If someone gets reliable information about which CPU the iPhone uses, I'll be impressed.
If someone codes a natively running demo for the iPhone, I'll rebuild the NY twin towers, jump off from one of them and fly to the other.

IPHONE demo = QuartzCompo stuff and patch ...
But looking at demonstrations on the web -- you can tell that they are using
"Coverflow" that we can also see in iTunes. Coverflow is a Quartz
Composition. Widgets can also use Quartz Compositions. So it seems that
Apple would have to do a lot of Work NOT to use Quartz Compositions if they
have a graphics processor on the iPhone that can support it.
Iphone uses a slimmed-down version of Leopard. Even though Safari can run
QuartzComposer -- I couldn't be sure that apple would allow them in the
iPhone version.
However, I'm sure that people will be able to hack the OS on these phones --
but that doesn't mean you could deploy quartz, or that Apple might not have
been able to emulate CoverFlow in another program.

wasn't it using an ARM something?
I would bet its running an ARM in there.

You'll have an erection over the touchpads in contemporary apple laptops then. It's the shame old thing.

And technically speaking, a C64 can't do 3D for lack of true FPU. Ever heard of faking? :)

Wow! I've never seen the touchpad of a MacBook act as a color display. Maybe I just missed that feature? You'll have an erection over the touchpads in contemporary apple laptops then. It's the shame old thing.
