I have just seen new platforms. That's great! It's a pitty that currently I don't have enough time to add new demos I have in mind,. I better go home and continue coding that demo. Yeah, I code a lot of Z80 now to catch up with the deadline for my 1st CPC demo and I will preety surelly release it in ReAct2003 at 18-20 April. (Half of the parts connected fully and I have a whole month for the rest, which are easier to connect now)

How 'bout this...? Add a poll with like 5 or 6 new demos/intros/whatever you feel at the moment and let users vote on their favorite. The like every week or something you could change it and add a link to a "winners" section to whoever's on top. It'll keep us busy so we don't post so much BS to these boards. :)

Another brainstorm/brainfart! How 'bout adding "upcoming parties" section. You just throw all the parties into a db as they get announced with time, date and location (and maybe a sentence about them) and when you go to the section, it'll tell you what's coming up and what just happened.

analogue: perhaps logged in users should get a `report fake' button on each prod page, for easy pouet spam reporting etc...

I actually quite like glöps, even if I'm far from beeing in the top 100.

Without people like DiamonDie and Optimus the database would be quite empty. Really, glöps does not hurt me, and if it can motivate people to comment (smartly) productions, why remove it ?

But eventually, perhaps we should add a "signal fake" button, that if the fake is confirmed will add "anti-glops" to the people that submited the production. And then of course, add a "hall of shame" that would display the top ten "anti-glops" :)

Dbug, I think the "hall of shame" is an error. People would like to be in that top-ten, so, we would fake just to be in. So, that may be the chaos at pouet

The only immediate thing to worry about, from my point of view anyway. Is the speed. I think pouët works just great, but the speed of it all is quite slow. In some cases it takes several seconds to generate a page. That could've been done faster, avoid database accesses where you can, and cache as much data as possible. But thumbs up for pouët...

yeah, the speed is my only complaint. I can live with it until analogue updates it for faster page generation.

One idea, very heavy to implement and very time consuming for the servers, but very interesant IMHO would be to add a "thumbsnails advanced search", so you can see 20 or 30 little size thumbnails at a time of the prods you are looking for, for example "Amiga ECS demos from 91 to 92". These would help a lot to find that prods that you remember as a mental image but not by the name of... well, just a suggestion.

Another idea, easiest, would be more voting options, not only the "rulez, pigface and sucks", but also other options like "this looks like a jokeprod"... I mean, that you can click in more that one thing, to classify better a prod. Other good thing would be in the main pouet web, where you see the list of what prods are new released and added, that when you pass the mouse by the links, you see in that yellow information for links things more information about the prod, as the type of system it needs.

nah. rulez, pigface and sucks is fine. I don't want to spend any time thinking about voting in more and exciting ways! ugh.


What I _would_ like to see, is linking the rulez votes -- the way amazon and such do. "People who liked this prod, also liked these 5 prods: " etc... :)
