this uberpresidential model has always favorized the right party because it fits more its values and conception of national fatherhood and authority.

if we had a more parliamentary system, social-democracy would be more successful in france like in other european countries, and the 'motherhood' of sego could have won.

a 6th republic would be nice!

pulse: of course. the mantra of their religion is: "WORK HARDER FRANCE"...but who is he asking us to "work harder for"? The right do not belive in public services, quality education (for everyone), National Health system, etc so he is NOT asking ppl to work harder for the things which make a nation. They believe in reducing those services which make a nation possible where all classes can prosper. They like to REDUCE public services so the rich do not pay more taxes.

we must work harder to fill the pockets of the corporations and businessmen to bursting point! that's the truth of Sarkozy's policies. sickening

C'est un peu facile d'essayer de réduire le résultat des élections à ça comme ça l'a été de réduire le résultat de 2002 à un simple vote de contestation...
Sinon entre Ségolène Royale et Angela Merkel, il y a une grosse différence :).
