Interesting. As is usual for news sites, no mention of what journal the "research note" was published in :P Google scholar also says nuhuh. Does "half" mean a whole single hemisphere, or cortical matter without sub-cortical matter, or only a single hemisphere worth of cortical matter (which would make it a quarter of a brain...). IMO the quarter brain thing is more likely because you'd want to make your job a little easier and hemispheres can work relatively independently *and* I assume they're looking at higher processing anyway.
So in effect they haven't simulated half a mouse, they've just created a very complex simulation of neuronal processing in cortical matter in general. Still fucking awesome! :)
