Tomcat/Mawi arrested in Hungary

sounds pretty much the same as the restrictions some dutch politicians are trying to put on the free movement of individuals from the dutch caribbean islands. they congegrate in cheap housing, they're criminal, they'll steal our jobs, they deal drugs, and worst of all: they're citizens of the same country as we are, so we don't have any EU or even national borders to protect ourselves from the rascals...

not to forget the polish guy who's supposed to come steal my crappy job- i sure wish he'd hurry! ;)

No, that's just what the European national governments want you to believe, because it's still them who are pulling the strings in the EU.

For a politician it's so much easier to hide behind the 'EU bureacracy' in Brussel, it saves them from having to defend their own decisions. But don't let them fool you.

The local politicians built the EU this way, to be able to pass unfavorable laws from above/outside while still looking only genuinely interested by local agenda. Policitians around here for example love to promise thing that the EU structure currently disallow then to say << oh, snap, we actually can't do that because the EU forbids us of doing so >>

Local nationalisms getting in the way of a real paneuropean nationalism that would force politicians to fight on the arena that really counts: europe. I want this fucking thing built and responsive. I want to elect meaningful representants at the european assembly. I want a prime minister and a foreign minister of europe. Someone's accountable before us, who would kick the lobbies ass out of the european chambers. Someone able to talk equally of all people's of europe's problem, instead of their little town's issues.

Instead of anarchy, Hungarians have a very old and functional societal system called the Sacred Crown Order. But that's another matter. It is not really hard to explain, but ATM I don't feel like typing all the night - I do it in another window, for my blog anyway. :)
