Demovibes - electronic grooves from the bigscreen

category: music [glöplog]
Face it, Amiga rules the world of 1995.

And yes, that vocal track on Demovibes 7 was like..

..

Okkie, you're wrong btw. Amiga 060/AGA is 1994, so it is more oldschool than a 1995 PC. That's how oldschooliness is defined. Look it up.

earx: nee, die lyrics van 303.. die 'trancehoer' is ook behoorlijk 'net aan' :))
Doom: I disagree! Oldschoolness is not necessarily based on years alone.
Ofcourse it does matter, but give me some time to elaborate!

I dare to say that a 1995 PC is AS oldschool as an 1994 Amiga, since they both came out in the same era, where as the Amiga might have been the mighty predecessor and the PC merily the successor, they do both fall in the same league of 'oldskoolness'. Both machines caused breakthroughs and have a very defined 'look and feel' about them. Eventhough the Amiga is Chronologicly the eldest of the two.

I do agree that defining a 1995 PC is harder than a 1995 Amiga. Since the PC market was growing rappidly and new hardware came out every other day.

Ok herm... now i got one for all the #trax guys around.
What
is
a
tracker?
kaneel: it adminstrates torrent activitity.. DUH!
No. 1994 was 13 years ago. 1995 was 12 years ago. You can't disagree with numbers. Amiga is 8.3% more oldschool.

I also felt that some of the tracks felt out of place. Namely IV-Racer, 32 Degrees and 303. While they are all nice pieces of music on their own, they don't fit into a collection of this kind imo.
But otherwise great stuff as always :)

@maali: DUH indeed :)
Eh. Oldskool is relative to when you started in the scene. :) For me, 1991-1994/95 is oldskool.

oldskool is when old fucks like truck or santa claus or alien^antitrax or ddt say so!

Here's the cuesheet, that includes GRG's nickname correction, thanks to Dalezy.
Everyone, thanks for the very warm feedback =)

willbe, there's sadly still a huge freudian in the cuesheet:

Quote:

TRACK 06 AUDIO
TITLE "Mean Scheme"
PERFORMER "Dalezy"
INDEX 01 15:12:60

that one ain't in there. :D you probably planned to include that track, but there's something else being credited with my name and track-name ..

The song is made by mempheria. Dalezyes song was used in embryonic and not in avast.

I'm absolutely sorry, Dalezy, such artists names mistakes are terrible.
Cue sheet is corrected.

dv7 = very sweet, thanks willbe!

When I heard 'Stars, wonders of the world' tune i instantely remembered the moment I saw that demo for the first time at a GP2 party (Ostrowiec Sw./PL, 1996) on a big screen + decent sound system + GUS. As a result I decided to ditch my lousy SB clone and buy a GUS. Ah, sweet memories :D

Ok, Willbe inspired me to do that little mix I have been thinking of for some time. I got lazy though, and only included five songs. :)

Tracklisting:
Quote:
01 - Irvin - "Synthematik"
02 - Takomo - "Projections"
03 - AK Balance & Little Bitchard - "The Jupiter Sound (Reefer Evil Remix)"
04 - Little Bitchard & Mel Function - "Variform"
05 - Blaizer - "Starstruck"

Give it a listen if you like seriousy high energy mad beat demosoundtracks. :)

Download: High Energy Demoscene Mix (192 kbit MP3, 17 MB)

Note to the original artists: Man, you people sure differ in your mastering techniques - working with some of these tracks was a nightmare :)
