Unintentional demoscene exposure?
category: general [glöplog]
Recently, the Lifehacker blog featured a program called Explorer Breadcrumbs which simplifies navigating folders: Lifehacker post
Look closely.
The screenshot shows the developer of the program navigating a folder with demoscene stuff in it. Sonnet gets free mass exposure for anyone visiting this page...
Going to the actual developer program page using the link provided by Lifehacker reveals more:
You can actually see what he downloaded from looking at the screenshot! He even has things organized by type of prod!
We should thank this guy for making this cool program and using the demoscene as an example to illustrate it's functions.

idiot or not, he's providing the demoscene free exposure. I also replied to the post on lifehacker explaining in a nut shell what the demoscene is about. I should probably email the demoscene outreach group huh?

i think that's a bit too farfetched - thing is, he doesnt provide any information on what the files are - for others, it may just seem like random filenames :)
it's still pretty cool that someone outside the scene watches intros, but i dont see how this is a major exposure :)

DEMOSKENE OUTREAKH:
Do a "last day" google blog search for "demoscene" and "demo scene" at least twice a day, and whenever you find a new entry by someone who obviously isn't a scener, go write comments about how great the scene is, etc. etc.
