The vista conspiracy

category: general [glöplog]
Krb it hasnt occoured to you that the greed and ego fuelled consumerism that caused this situation in the first place, itself was conspiratorial in nature? that consumerism didnt just happen. It was made to happen and the worst of the worst methods was applied.

that people alllowed it to run rampant and for long lied about it for their own personal gain with no thought of the actual cost to everybody? and that this conspiracy itself is still running, and pretty much with the same people/constructs and ideas involved still.

Look up century of the self made by Adam Curtis and aired on the BBC. it raises some pretty serious questions on this

if anyone is in doubt about mr. Curtis facts, i will add that this is the kind of retribution he got for it.

The organisation Media Lens criticised Adam Curtis for not mentioning US atrocities in Guatemala.

The co-editor of Media Lens, David Edwards, argues we should ask Mr Curtis:

... why he has failed to respond to the articles and letters that have been sent to him. Ask him why The Century of the Self gave so much detailed attention to Guatemalan history, and yet failed to mention U.S. responsibility for the 150,000 civilians killed as a result of its assault on Guatemala. Ask why the series focused on this isolated U.S. intervention without mentioning that it was a small part of similar interventions elsewhere in Latin America and in the Third World generally. Is this wider pattern not central to understanding the real significance, and costs, of corporate control of domestic and foreign societies in the 20th and 21st centuries?

...

in other words. oy mate? why did you not tell the whole truth. and some of the truth, that are what were getting is so horrible, that it has to make you ponder if we have not been hoodwinked into our own destruction, and ask yourself. Why isnt it stopped and dealt with, what are the plan. Noone is idiot enough to knowingly eliminate themself when they are on the high roll, so wtf?

No, we are just acting like microbes in a "petri box".
Like microbes, we do what we have to do, eating, shitting, doing kids, without having conscience of the result, so no conspiration.

I can't find a link to a description of the petri box experience, how wikipedia sucks... so:

put some sugars and water and air in a 100% closed box. Obvisouly, there are already microbes in it. Now keep the box 100% closed for some days.

What happens ? the microbes population grows slowly as it eats its "resource". And the growing is exponential, of course. So when you actually have *half* of the resources eaten, the time left before all the resources are off is... only one more generation. This is mathematic. This is the case for the human race now. And this is why we will have a total depletion of *each* kind of ressources we use in the coming years.

This also means that if we "had another earth to consume", the human race will "eat" it in one generation only.(adding twice the sugar as you put first in the box= 1 more generation)

the only solution comes from sexuality, which is a tool microbes don't have: With sexuality, not only you can vary your genes, but you can also decrease the population by having one child by couple, which means decreasing but continuing.(0 child ->death, 1 child->decreasing, 2->stable >=3->growing)

those are the basic premises of any lifeform pretty much, rampant consumerism isnt. Uptaining life and breeding and consumerism is not the same thing, who on earth gave you that idea?

and besides, if you compare your intellectual level and understanding of the consequences of your ations to be that of a microbe and you belive most people feel that way. I admit then were pretty fucked!

I was just under the impression that we could chose our behaviour and learn from past mistakes. my bad

The tool you lack is called sociology.
Go read some good pierre bourdieu book.
You'll learn most humans conscious acts are not conscious at all.

yes, and when you know that and you and your mates use it against people to make them do things they wouldnt otherwise do, then what are you doing against them?

what is such a behaviour called? A CONSPIRACY!

i thank the audience for listening, and wish you a good night.

besides krb, you are inrectly saying that Adam Curtis facts are not facts and flat out state that spending time on weeding out conspirators is a waste of time. Is this something that you can back up with anything but emotionally ridden defense mechanisms that skipper explained so well?

Our way of life will end in the coming 10 years, scientifics and experts are trying to explain nicely to the world that the human race will effectively be extincted within 2 centuries. There is 2 big differences with your discourse:

  • this is not fun.
  • this is true.

who cares for human race anyway? our "reproduction instincts" ?
so youve given up? thats it, let come what comes instead of trying to deal with it? do you solve all the problems you face like that?

actually i haven't given up, i just was never into this saving humanity stuff.

show me only a single universal complete ethical system that says human kind must not vanish, i'll follow you. otherwise i'll be trying to maximize my own pleasure.
the human race extinction in the coming century is not 100% sure "yet": scientists are working on the accuracy of the models. The last 5 years was the coming of lots of bad news; You can watch the continental ice melt or measure the CO2, it will not tell what exactly will happen.

An outstanding criteria is looking how many other species disappear; we are in the middle of a major species extinction, like it happened only 4 times in the story of earth. By family of species, a few disappeared. But if you look each variety, you got already something like 1/3 of the living species *gone for ever*.

When I was a kid, I use to eat the real vanilla plant. But the bee that inseminate(?) the vanilla is GONE FOR EVER since the 80's. All the vanilla you eat is done in factories.

So, all our alimentary chains are getting the fuck out... great conspiration !

for some possibilities of nice things that will happen soon, I recomend to read the second part of that page:
http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/
...especially when the guy explains that we will be unable to make medecines and food without oil (yes, in the very coming years).

Ho, when I'm at it... I laughed my ass 2 weeks ago, there was a conference of countries and enterprises about the "climate crisis". (well, it is a humanity crisis to my mind, not a climate crisis which is only one of its consequence.)
So, you know, USA don't give a fuck about the tokyo protocol, but some state are just starting to move their ass about CO2,... so bla bla bla, big meeting, bla bla bla, is it true ? bla bla bla of course...
And at the end, they just send a spokesman that claimed:
"there is a climate crisis caused by man !" Greaaaat! Even the worst orgs and states of the earth says that for 5 years now. And the guy adds:
"the water will grow from 20 centimeters *at least* in the coming century" .. so he did all he could to mimimize the crisis if you read.
It's very strong, because he gives a value "at least", but that's all. actually, scientists are more about 7 meters. And people will understand that it will grow of 20 centimeter FOR SURE within 100 years.
Well, you can verify that: the water growed of 15 Centimeters for the * last * 100 years. Knowing the CO2 curves, 20 centimeters is obviously a ridiculous LIE.

If the whole groenland melt, it will be 7 meters to add.
If the whole antartica melt, add 160 meters. After, that's all, no more ice at all on continents :-)
And after some recent discovering, we know the continental ice * could * melt... in one blow. (cf gore's movie, and some sites.) WTF if you understand it means a big wave flushing 1/3 of mankind in one day. :-( :-( :-( :-(

I add... because I've already heard that sceptic argument:

"When an iceberg melt, the whole volume water+ice decrease, because 95% of the iceberg is under the water, and trhe whole completely melt takes less volume."

That's taking scientists for dumbs...

the amount of water we will get was computed region by region, geographically, by measuring continental ice's volume , which can be completly continental (groenland, antartica) or semicontinental (parts of antartica: the ice is on the ocean, but reach the ground.)
So you know, water has marvellous features, I like one of them a lot: it is a uncompressible fluid.

The big question is: How will those fucking ice react with 3 more degrees...
