actually, i just found the exact same version that's used in the flash. compare http://www.z0r.de/?id=21 to http://www.modarchive.com/cgi-bin/download.cgi/N/nobu_outruneurope.it instead.
Yeah, but it seems that almost everything on that site is "stolen", animations and sounds. It just happens that they sometimes have the good taste of choosing scenemusic instead of pop for their videos.
And I assume that it isn't commercial usage?

not commercial usage? so the aggressive banners + attempts to make you install spyware is just for fun and doesnt give them money? ok.
Ok, didn't notice those. I might recommend you to install an adblocker too... =)
"Scene music stolen?" was just copycatting from the other thread.
What I really wanted to know is the source for the tunes.

firefox makes it ok to me.

yay keygen music!
Keygen music is weird, it sounds like it's made on nintendoes but my computer can play better music? Stupid!
Give Me Back The Nights, by DJ Shadow (from his latest album) has sampled Massagin's bass line!
Can anyone else confirm that? It's played at a lower pitch but sounds a lot like massagin.

Hmm... wrong thread. Anyway, the title is suitable.
Two artists make songs that sound somewhat similar! Call the police!
if you dont want your music stolen. write everything in an augmented fifth!!!!
Masagin bassline (intro, didn't check all the way through to see if there are any variations): A - A - AC - E
Give Me Back The Nights bassline: AAAAACBE
So, yeah, what Okkie and Maali said. It bugs me how people on the scene are so quick to leap on 8-note phrases that are kind of slightly similar to a demo soundtrack, or tracks that use a square wave instrument (It must be ripped from a demoscene chiptune! Burn them!), and yet when a remixed commercial track ends up on a demo with no credit for the original artist, the general response is "Meh... oh well, it's not like they were doing it for profit (except for the competition prize which doesn't count because of mumble mumble)". And I know the scene isn't a single entity, so I shouldn't be surprised that there are double standards across it, but... hnnngh.

Right gasman, so we shall burn you because you made a (very cool) version of "time goes by" in order to be fair!
forgot ;)
This is probably a good moment to point out that the AY cover of Hung Up is by TDM and Factor6, not me :-)
(Up to now the highest-profile ripping incident I've been caught up in has been Laromlab (remember him?) - he played one of my tracks at a gig as if it was his own material. Now that I'm doing live shows, I need to take care that I'm not inadvertently doing the same thing when I'm using work by the likes of TDM, Factor6 and Purple Motion. So that example is actually more relevant than you might think!)

Thanks for the precisions, you're right they're important... Congrats to TDM and Factor6! :D
With that many people involved, this will make a nice pyre... ;p
(We'll build it on the not so cold ashes of Laromlab, <serious>a real sucker that one</serious>)
Is the AY sound with/without vocals downloadable somewhere?

Non-vocal version of Hung Up here... there's no recording with vocals (other than live captures from gigs, of course).
Thanks...
I have the vocals version from Outline where you did a great show! :)
Hope you'll do another one next year!

Be sure to check the datestamp. The more recent, the more likely it's better!
