For Amigo demo fans and Winuae users
category: general [glöplog]
This is one of the most extensive ADF demo collections I've seen.

Just thought I'd point it out for those who are interested. There's also a massive Amigo game section too!

amigo
It's amiga! amigA!! Feminine, goddammit! Please - not even my childhood geek buddies got that wrong, even when talking about their Commandor 64 computers....
Take it from the original C= engineers:
"It neither a Comma nor a Door"
"It neither a Comma nor a Door"
[sigh]
The TOSEC collections are not even worth discussing. It's a 'collection' so that people who don't care about things other than "having everything" can "have everything."
They also have a 'complete c64 music' collection, which is an old version of the HSVC or something, and if you tell one of the collectors that it's incomplete, they'll "prove you wrong" by showing that whatever file isn't in the collection that you're talking about doesn't have a checksum, so it doesn't exist.
Basically, figure this is a Timbaland and fans level collection. It's for stealing, not for enjoying.

tosec is gay... boycot it
Actually it's not amiga or amigA but Amiga. Thanks.
But my Amiga is my Amigo! I don't want no girly computer!
What the hell is TOSEC?

OMG! The website is in dutch! How am I going to read that?
The Old School Emulation Center
Packages up disk images afaik and releases them.

He wants a manly computer, not a myopia machine.

Not quite. They don't release them themselves. Tosec mainly collects the checksums and renames all the ADFs and ROMs available on the net and adds the name into a database. If you find single ADFs/ROMs or whole packages on the net or filesharing programs, they're from private persons, the Tosec team itself doesn't distribute pirated files on their website.
You can use a renaming tool like TIM, ClrMamePro or Romcenter to scan the files on your harddrive and rename them properly.
So for example if you downloaded "MnkyIsl1.adf" from somewhere and still have it with that name on your harddrive, after checking it with a renaming tool it becomes "Secret of Monkey Island, The (1990)(LucasFilm Games)(Disk 1 of 4)[cr SKR].adf"
That way it's easier to check what version you have, who cracked it, what language it is and so on...

So, if you use a utility like this then you don't really need tosec. Good :)
I always hated the naming scheme that contain the game's name as well as the cracker and the cracktro(s) scroller :)

It's more about knowing the different cracked versions, than just 1:1 duplicates. As I said, with a filename like "MnkyIsl1.adf" you don't see the language, the cracking group, the release date.
If you're looking for an uncracked, unaltered disk image on the internet, or the german version instead of the english one, the naming scheme is very useful, unless you like to go on a hunt and download many "MnkyIsl1.adf"'s until you find the one you want.

Thank you, I was looking for someone to define "EmuLamer" for me today.
m1cro, what is the name of that game? I have had it and I would love to play it again. Was it go moku?
texel: I wanted to find an image referencing to "AmiGo" but couldn't find it, but instead I found that image on some strange site. The site says: "Go Player, The (1991) (Oxford Softworks)"
