seems like the guy isnt so much as shooting himself in the foot as a blowing his whole leg off with a shotgun.
can we get a transcript of this somehow? it'd surely be useful in the case.

"live in america"
"I live in america"
best defence ever
Holy s**t.. that's one stupid response.
"cammon man, im good" :D
Jesus Christ, he's reacting worse than I would expect, my god...
'I can sample anything I want, because it's not stealing, it's USING it! IDIOTS!'

looks like those republican retard isnt that clever...
What about having a music compo where you must sample some of Timbaland's comments from that interview? :)
DAMN... i'm good! I'M GOOD! fuck you timbaland. first time ever id like to say him: fuck you.
... like if somebody says... "ok your troops bombed iraq and killed 3 million people how do you respond for this?" answer: whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Come on man, I'm good. ... i mean wtf.
viznut: cool idea, but might be better to sample cool folks, not dumbheads like timbo
ridiculous reply. sue him! or not.
so much about "nerds with a questionable understanding of copyright", huh? ;)
Almost on-topic: Just saw this "old" VW commercial again and stumbled upon an interesting... coincidence:

god, timbaland should be shot in the balls for being a total wanker :D
VW: bringing sexy back.
The transcript is pretty much what I expected. He doesn't say anything exact, remains vague, for the sake of not providing evidence or admission; but then, he shows attitude and plays off the high horse, to maintain the zealotry-base.
Seriously, what did you expect? Honesty?

gargaj: the good thing is he admitted it's a sample - means it doesnt require all the effort of proving it's the same audio data used, and not something he came up with all on his own using his sidstation. it makes it a case of "does his use of this sample require he pays royalties?", not "did he even sample it in the first place".
Hehe, I'm blocked from commenting the Timbaland statement on youtube, perhaps there is a need for a commentable version of the youtube-clip.

I expected something a bit more sophisticated and smart. Like him shutting his yap on air.
He's not flat-out admitting to it, but by calling it a sample he does concede it's not something he made up himself. Half-admission laced with ignorant babble is better for the accuser than nothing at all. I'm sure his legal team just loves his way of dealing with the situation.
Proving that it's the same audio data wouldn't have been the hard part for any of the lawyer teams... just an additional month, really.
From this point, it's all "is it legal sampling" or not. See Vanilla Ice's beloved grace note.
