scene music stolen
category: music [glöplog]
tempest/damage may be an ok musician, but he certainly aint famous
what gargaj said full throttle
PLUS tempest is in same group as Reed (and works close with him) which well... provided music for all Keops intros on PC (2 actually)
:D

:D
Evil: So? I fail to see your point. Am I supposed to know Reed's whole family as well and the time he usually goes for a dump?
Hint: I work with Reed. *REED*. Not tempest.

i think he's better as graphician. known from award winning demos such as boogie factor
keops, i heard reed usually has his daily big poo in the morning, which is around 8 unless he's been drinking last night. jsyk.
skrebbel: too late, ubereleet know-it-all [EviL] already sent me a notice about that!!!!
Now that's weird though, coz I usually have mine at the same time, right after breakfast (probably a matter of cause-consequence action-reaction mechanism)

nice to see people are fighting the big fight.
goddamn atari crazies.
goddamn atari crazies.
keops, wow! that can't be a coincidence!! god knew you'd one day make intros together!
you nerds all suck. anyone can come up with the idea of taking a dump at 8 in the morning. and you didn't copyright it. this happens all the time in the music business, IT'S CALLED SHITTING guys, get a life. There's no evidence that keops thought of it before reed, they probably both stole the idea off someone else. and anyhows it all smells shit anyway. Only a genius like Timbaland can take a dump and make it into a true work of art.
<3
tempest vs. timbaland was briefly mentioned this morning on finnish tv (YLE) in a short segment about music plagiarism (due to a local controversy about our possible eurovision candidate being possibly plagiarised from someone else). they interviewed some musician and a representative of TEOSTO (not totally unlike the US RIAA). the teosto rep was somewhat pessimistic if a "average guy hobbyist musician" can ever have a chance against a big label even if he's right... sad, really.
Sad in a bigtime way, but let's not hope it's true in this case. As far as I can see, this one is worth the fight, and has the evidence to back it up also. All we need now is a statement from Timbaland denying the allegations, and the fire will spark once more.
..or, of course, he could just do the honorable thing and admit he stole, pay up, and get on with his life.

and that's exactly why he will never make a statement.
Gargaj: Yeah, well.. if it turns out that he does settle outside of court and Tempest is allowed to speak about it, I'm pretty sure it will be known in one way or another. :)
I think they will go out of their way to make sure the settlement will include nondisclosure.
I hope Janne is not going to accept that part.

Record company lawyers might work in mysterious ways, but I can't see how it would be in anybody's interest to put in a non-disclosure clause. Anything damaging that could be said has already been repeated far and wide, and the only thing left to say is "we've paid Tempest and GRG their royalties and now everyone's happy".
It would make a nice scene at Breakpoint though. "Hi, I'm Tempest. How about I buy everyone a beer? No, no reason... I just happen to have come into possession of an obscenely large amount of money. No, I don't know where it came from, it just landed in my bank account one day."

Shifter: You can be sure of that, yeah.
Gasman: Sure, we could _assume_ that Tempest got that money from a hefty settlement (to which he is rightfully entitled, I might add :), but we could not prove it. Therefore, were we to go about town splashing large posters that said "Timbaland admits to stealing, justice is served!" we would in fact be lying.. or something to that effect. :)

Except for "yes, the great producer admits being unoriginal".

Timbaland has made a radio interview commenting the theft.

Wow. He's basically repeating what the Internet crowd defending him is saying. + "I 'unno what's public domain and what's not." I'ma go see if I can find some of them demo presets on my c64.
"I dunno who they faces are. The hell wrong with dem? It's from a video game, idiot."

Aaaaaw Timbaland is a sad panda (T_T)
Haha, he used a demo song from a casio keyboard? That's funny as hell..
And you'd expect that such a professional has a bit more clue on IP and copyright than: " hey I bought the keyboard, I own the sample tunes on it ". Dude!!!!!!
Which means he's either a clueless lamer or a point blank ripper in denial.

*blink*
So there you go. It's not stealing unless you break into someone's house and physically take their stuff. Perhaps someone should let the RIAA know.
