neon: Haha, oh god, that one almost made me laugh my breakfast all over the table. :)
Another case with timbaland:

(ah yeah and YLE mentionned it: http://www.yle.fi/uutiset/kulttuuri/id51183.html)
A Finnish tabloid Iltalehti picked up the story:

A completely neutral statement (with no links to the original tune, even though the title is spelled out) has now been added to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timbaland#Reports_of_.22Do_It.22_Controversy
..and Scene.org got a nice traffic-bump I see:

I actually never stopped to think about the potential impact this could have on the demoscene.. if we were smart, and had the time, we would update and prepare some "What is the demoscene?"-stuff so that all the potential press would be good for something.
A bit on the side this, but I'd really hate to see the Timbaland ripoff-case getting mixed with some sort of "demoscene outreach"-idea. The statement above scares me. Those who are interested in this sort of thing will find the scene eventually, and there is no point in turning it into a mission. Stick to the point, guys.
Archmage: I actually agree with you that there should not be a huge scene outreach going on. However; my point was that as it stands now, we have seen that journalists/bloggers/YouTube-commenters cannot be trusted to know enough about the demoscene to make sound calls. We've already seen many people bashing Tempest for "doing cracks for games and releasing MP3s, lol!" etc.
My statement was more aimed towards actually having a reasonable source for information about the demoscene, so that we have something to refer to when Joe Schmoe comes knocking and screaming about cracks and ripping. :)

Piru: Could you please remove Pouet from your list of ongoing Tempest VS Timbaland-discussions? I don't think the general public really needs to see the flipside here.
gloom:
It's not my site and the link was there even before I saw it.
all:
YLE-X radio channel just played the samples from the first youtube clip and commented it: "huhu.. can't get much more obvious than that".

Piru: Could you tell him to remove the link?
gloom:
He's not in IRC (ircnet) ATM, it seems. See http://pelulamu.net/viznut/ or contact information.

Okay, check this out:
Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/Lovesounds
And compare it with:
Putsch'79 - Asian Girl
Seems like Timbo really feels inspired by independent Finnish music..

He *IS* on irc (/me stupid typoed the nick). Asked him to remove the link, but it really is upto him.
sami liuski from putsch'79 is/was also demoscener(!) in group doomsday. he made music for boost for example
would that be illusion?
timbaland <3 demoscene
Timbaland is a fag.
I heard rumours that in reality Photoshop (which we all think is Stefan) is really Timbaland.
If putsch'79 don't know about this be sure to expose that fucker again to make sure he stays nailed on the cross this time.
uns3en_: This is almost too good to be true. :) Can someone try to contact him and ask if he has licensed his stuff to Timbaland? Either way the case is much less clear than Tempests, but it would be kind of nice to have something to keep the momentum going.
