I don't mean communism literally. I was just using it as a figure of speech. I'm not sure what the proper term is, but I was refering to the sick notion some people have that certain "content" should be banned because of what it represents. I already stressed that I hate REAL child porn, because it hurts kids. But any freak that wants to ban lolicon isn't protecting anybody. They simply don't like what it represents. The same principle goes for violent video games and swastikas. They may offend some people, but that ain't a reason to ban them. Somebody once told me that if I played violent video games, I would become a serial killer. That's crap! I like killing people in games, not real life. Real life has real people, but games don't. I am aware of this, and the same goes for lolicon. It won't turn me into a child molester. Real child porn might, because I would have to "turn off" my consciense to watch it. Lolicon has no ethical consequences, except that it offends some German politicians. Big whoop!

Oh, BTW, stop discussing laws from Germany. Unless they intend to take over the internet, I will leave the censorship to the discretion of this board's moderators.

Basically, I agree. Freedom of speech shouldn't be limited. However, some things such as real child porn are simply disgusting. I wouldn't like to be confronted with such things. Therefore the ban of this is OK with me.

There are many people who draw manga for fun. It's like a scene of its own. (See e.g. http://www.animexx.de/, http://mangacarta.de/, http://www.animanga.at/ and of course the individual users' homepages.) I wonder why the demoscene doesn't cooperate with this scene? IMHO they'd fit very well together and complement each other. It would make demos more fun to watch even for less technical-minded people.

I agree. Real child porn does two things. It harms the kids involved, and the person viewing it has to block out any compassion towards the kids, therefore degrading their own conscience. Of course, none of this has to do with what's disgusting. If we banned what is disgusting, there would be no Unreal Tournament, Mortal Kombat, Silent Hill, etc. This would be HELL! :-)
