I suppose the increase of disk space needed for vista is because they have unrolled all the donothing(); loops to increase speed.

I tried out some vista beta some time ago at a friends house.. And well, it really looked and felt bad. But it was mostly because everything screamed "we want to rip off osx aqua, but we arent allowed to because of licenses" giving it a bit of tweaks here and there i think it might be as nice running as osx. But it will take a couple of years I guess before its tuned. Where OSX is then.. Well, we don't know. But giving a proper accelerated shell env. for the windows alternative shell communities sure will be intresting for shell development.

The only 2 really good things about a MAC OS is 1 that nobody codes viruses or spyware for these systems, 2 the crisp graphics are truly 100% better than a windows PC.
