rarefluid: why are you encoding demos using 2-pass? surely it's better to use single pass with a quantizer setting to guarantee quality? two pass encoding doesn't make sense for demos, there are often keyframe inducing screenflashes in demos among other things. it will swell the file in some occasions, but the quality will be guaranteed.

i understand there are arguments for two pass, but it depends on the target audience / use for your vidoes.

rc55: I'll consider it... For me it is quality as well as filesize. Really HQ captures should maybe be made for a DVD like Mindcandy, Demo or die, you're right. But making captures larger than 40-50megs is maybe a bit too much if your don't aim for archieving stuff forever...
