Hi there,

for such a time I've been thinking on the idea of compilating somewhere the lyrics from the demotunes in a comprehensive web site, as I found it embarrasing when I like a song and don't know how to sing it. I started making some stubs yesterday afternoon and lead me to get this:

This is an example page of what I plan to do. By now I have a few lyrics from well-known songs I could upload, but this task may require as much as people as possible, as long as I can't watch every demo and search for every lyric!

Design is more or less provisional. Site title is not decided. Slack^NS suggested me "Lyrics Me Beautiful".

Ideas? Support? Flames?

but it would be nice to not only include demotunes, but generally scenesongs with lyrics which are part of our heritage, like "sanovat että".

Oh yeah, every piece of scene history is appreciated, either a demotune or a stand-alone song :)

What's next? Perhaps choreography videos to learn how to dance "rob is jarig".

I dread the day where I will see a demotune karaoke compo...

(unless the contestants get to use a vocoder)

This was actually also part of my recent "demotext.org" idea - a site that would collect everything from demoscene prods that consists of natural language: diskmag articles, texts from demos, lyrics for demosongs etc. I totally support all kinds of projects that do something like this.

Some more rationale: a lot of demomusic and graphics has been put separately available, as well as video captures of demos, but no one hasn't seem to care so much about the "poetry".

and i really like the Nirvana "Smells like teen spirit" remake "Smells like scene spirit" at this years breakpoint! would be kewl to have cd-compilation filled with such tunes!

another idea: instead of "knight rider" a hip hop tune called "night rider" about boozing sceners etc typical partystyles :D

atleast the lyrics for 'the code inside' are wrong... its 'feeling' not 'flying'..

LB should still have all the lyrics written up somewhere.
