hi there,
is there any good xm/mod replayer for the gba with a straight forward api?

we have used krawall in our demos. free version plays only s3m files and it's quite old version... but $12 for xm-support and updates isn't bad. almost like free.

nEiM0d's nMod player is also a great one.
Krawall isn't compatible with the new development kits such as arm-elf-eabi, so i wouldn't recommend it.
And don't think you'll find an XM player for the GBA that easy, XMs usually have more then 16 channels, which sucks up your CPU power (which you probebly need for software 3D)

i remember i was supposed to do a soundtrack for a gma something, and the restrictions were 8 channels, although i was allowed to use .xm - no idea which player it was about though. unfortunately i lost all my gba contacts.
gma=gba
krawall is good
Didn't krawall use to open source?
just do it like TBL on the amiga. Stream ADPCM! it's nice on the CPU and gives you great quality
adpcm is great if we want to see 16mb gba demos... :)
oh well, our next gba-demo will probably have adpcm sound, packer/player is already ready. atleast faster to replay than 16+ channel xm's, yey! \o/

krawall sucks ass. really. if you want a clean and fast xm/mod/s3m-replayer for gba, ask me for pimpmobile.
oh, and yes, before you ask: it's "free" as in free beer, but it also comes with a nice hippie-license (zlib license)
