Cool stuff! Although I can't really compute that this is running on a 1 MHz emulated CPU. But maybe the video chip can do a lot of stuff to offload the main cpu.

Thanks! And yes, that's the point =) The video chip has an "API" where you simply set some registers in order to get a polygon/line/circle/copy data or access VRAM. The CPU is basically spending most of its time giving commands to the video chip. The idea came to me when using the pico-8, I *loved* coding for a "fake" computer with a bult-in graphics API, but sadly the pico-8 lacks a CPU at all.
