Nice as a parody. A bit long and predictable as a demo.
Thumbs up for the laughs.
However, (and please, don't get me wrong) I find it strange and a bit unfair that this demo was the winner of the compo. I mean, the demo is a cool entry but not precisely the most original or killer prod in the competition.

Surprising winner I agree, but was such a fun parody :)
Really funny and well scripted, with some nice effects too!
Wasn't quite sure about this in the beginning, but towards the end I was laughing so hard I literally started crying. The delirious state brought on by the third night of partying probably helped though ;) No problems with this one winning the compo.
Very well made and entertaining take on the Batman Group demo. Can't see what's unfair about people voting for it.
Worthy winner.
This demo was a pleasant surprise for me. A lot of fun and with a lot of work behind it for the short time I presume they had to make it.
Very grateful for the parody and winks. I don't know if it's the one that deserves the first prize, I think I'm not objective in this case, but it was the one I liked the most.
Thanks!

funny and cute ! congrats :)
I'm about to start laughing again. Great! Many thanks for the Spreadpoint greetings. We appreciate that.
I rarely feel the urge to comment on anything here, but having this place anywhere else in the compo than dead last is a fucking farce.
The prod is not the worst thing I've seen and has some enjoyable parts, but the placement was the worst lapse of judgement of the voting crowd that I've seen.
Sorry.

Sorry.
Provided some solid laughs! Defo deserving of a winning spot!
Nice Powerpuff girls Amiga demo
WTF? this should never have won the demo compo period. Might be funny for some people but 1st place Come on? Probably should have been submitted as a Wild...
You should not blame the authors for the ranking they are not responsible for. Also don't underestimate the entertaining/parodic value. There's also quite a lot of work within a short period of time since BG release despite the "childish approach".
I don't understand half of the cultural references here. "Powerpuff girls" - WTF? But they look as batshit stupid as Batman - works for me! There is lots of artistic and technical work involved and entertainment value to be found here, and of course a persiflage on an animdemo has to be an animdemo itself. So everybody gets what they deserve. :-)
Well it's ok for me, funny ST-01'ish soundtrack :) Definitely should not have won IMHO but as stated, it's not really authors "fault".
This one was a blast :D i liked that flying powerpuff girl with colored trail behind effect.
sometimes fun and entertainment is more important than anything else, well done!
This was fun to watch :)
Mental that this came first really. I mean, it's okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.
Completely fell in love with this one! <3 How charming and lovely a parody can be!
powerpuffgirls!!!
Great direction. This was not only funy but also well done.
I really liked this demo.. And having the Powerpuff Girls is sure winner concept.
Plus you can't really blame the makers of this demo for what the crowd votes on.

Really really entertaining with some good laughs, but not my personal favourite from the compo.
You ruled it again Alex, congrats for this. It develops over time and is hilarious fun to watch, IMHO. And never underestimate the vote of the crowd, never forget: "we have computers, which can beat your computers...".
Nice demo.
@glxblt & @spiryt: It's strange that you downvote a demo because you don't like the rank it got. That’s not the »fault« of the demo but of the voters.

Great demo!
cute parody of batman rises :)
Loved this demo. Good job!
This demo winning the compo turned the least evil thing I can imagine to the evilest thing I can imagine. :) Awesome stuff.
Cute!
Charming silliness very competently executed, makes me happy. :)

Absolutely not my cup of tea, but cute has its place :)
Reading the comments (about ranking and else) is a kind of perfect "movie in the movie" and gently prove that the message(s) itself definitly worthed been spread <3.
Absolut well done !

Nice funny parody of the recent classic Batman Rises with great cartoon visuals, but the music falls a bit flat for me here. Still an up-thumb, though.
Oh the banter, the taunting and self deprecating humor ... exactly my cup 'o tea.
I think the last time we had aching belly laughter in our row during an Amiga Demo compo was when Nature and Traktor released "Jesus Christ Motocross"
... eheh ... "butt" ehheehe XD

No, just no.
I was entertained!
sugar, spice and something nice, the recipe also fits the rest of Losso! The placement does not matter here, nevertheless, I am proud of the result, Losso you have baked something amazing.

Me thinks I smell a little Winner-Demo vibe, quite literally 20 years after the "original voter's sin" in 2004 ;D

This was lots of fun, well executed and I really enjoyed it. Congrats on the win!
Funny stuff. Liked it.
The demo is fun and it made me smile when I saw it, I don't know if it deserves the first place but my finger up for sure.
Some of the jokes worked. Some of the jokes were utterly juvenile. A weak pig.
Is it copyrighted content totally allowed as primary material for demoparties winner now?
I remember that demos with a few second of copyrighted sample in a demo tune was enough to be disqualified, so now I'm a little bit lost...

yes yes funny, we heard that already multiple times. that's how crowd pleasers work.
still, content-wise so-so, the graphics are either mediocre, ripped or/and cropped quite badly. music is really flat. also the transitions and animations could have been executed more accurately.
there are other funny productions which offer way more handcraft.

You may have missed that this is also a parody of the outstanding products of the Batman Group, which have all won, including the Scene.org Award and this year Meteorics nominee. So the question of copyrighted material is already in the source. or part of the parody!
funny !
You think this is a joke!!? What the hell :((((
Oh wait. Actually more coherent story & as realtime as
.
Eon ;)

loved it :)
you know what, this is great. i've always kinda lowkey liked Losso's quirky demos, and here we finally have the magnum opus. i don't think i'll be watching it much after the fact, but during the compo i felt there was absolutely nothing wrong with it (the fact that the 2D graphics are all nicely antialiased is all i could have asked for). just overall well put together :)
should it win? well that's for the audience to decide, and i'm not gonna let that affect my judgement of the content itself.
"butt"

Dear Amiga Scene: welcome to what PC demo compos can be like at easter parties.
(this was a fun demo btw)
(this was a fun demo btw)
when the circle jerk is over and people vote stuff that is fun :D
When it comes to evaluating art, it's important to consider both its entertainment value and its artistic merit. While a joke production may be entertaining and enjoyable, it may not necessarily have the same artistic value as a more serious or thought-provoking production.
In this case, it's important to consider the criteria that were used to judge the award. If the award was based solely on entertainment value, then it's understandable that the joke production won. However, if the award was intended to recognize artistic merit, then it may be more problematic that the joke production won over a more substantial work of art.
In terms of ethics, it's important to be honest and transparent about the criteria being used to judge art. If an award is intended to recognize artistic merit, then it's important that the judging criteria reflect that. However, if the award is meant to recognize entertainment value, then it's important to be clear about that as well.
Ultimately, the best approach is to recognize that different types of art can have different types of value. While a joke production may not have the same intellectual or emotional depth as a more serious work of art, it can still be entertaining and enjoyable in its own way. At the same time, it's important to recognize and reward the artistic merit of more serious works of art, even if they may not be as immediately accessible or entertaining to a wider audience.

If people are given the opportunity to vote for an award, it's important that they make an informed decision based on the criteria for the award. While it may be tempting to vote for a production that is more entertaining or amusing, it's important to consider the artistic merit of the work as well.
In cases where the award is intended to recognize artistic merit, voters should consider the quality and depth of the work, as well as the skill and talent of the artists involved. While entertainment value is certainly important, it should not be the sole criteria for judging the award.
On the other hand, if the award is intended to recognize entertainment value, then voters can feel free to vote for the production that they enjoyed the most. However, even in this case, it's important to be honest about the criteria being used to judge the award.
Ultimately, the best approach is to be informed and thoughtful about the award and the criteria for judging it. While it may be tempting to vote for a more entertaining production, it's important to consider the artistic merit of the work and the intentions of the award.

Kaneel, there's no way to objectively value art, its definition varies not only from individual to individual, but also from one day to the other. Demos are an especially multi-faceted affair. Of course this demo is as much art as all the others in the compo. My rough definition would be
art = effort * prowess * concept * X. (Into X you can factor shady things like "talent", which I formerly denied would exist, but increasingly must acknowledge.)
Demos have always been about the public vote, and they get votes for all the right and wrong reasons. That's the curse of the big parties with ithe "uninformed" crowds, and part of the fun. Let the dramaz ensue and sort it out in fruitful discussions. Jury awards are just amplifiers. I doubt they can or should delude themselves to add any kind of informedness. :-)

I don't get it. This outcome is the definition of democracy. All of us (being at the party) decided together by voting. This means, among other things, that some of us will
* forget to vote because we're drunk
* vote for our best buddy, even tho his prod is shit
* vote based on completely random or subjective criteria, like entertainment
* will not have technical or artistic background and simply won't know how cool the prod is by those specific criteria.
and that's the way it should be imo. Compos at demoparties determine the most popular prod.
We got the meteoriks as well, if you really need careful jury-based decisions. :)

stop complaining and be popular as well.
I really enjoyed this, for me this is one of the best amiga demos in recent years!
Funny prod!
Has its moments.
I laughed my ass out with the fake youtube pause/play at the end of the demo :D
Sure, kind of funny, but not a winner.
this is a good prod
Its nice and kind of fun, there are some nice effects, consistent presentation and well paced (music is a pain though) I appreciate the effort ...while trying to understand why it won at the same time.
It's not really that surprising that this won, is it? But for those who are surprised I recommend the lates Zine podcast episode about satire and gimmicks.
Very cool!
It was funny and cute, but definitely did not deserve first place. But that's only my opinion :)
I remember watching the compo and when this popped up I was thinking "From here. we have atleast one demo worthy my Reamiga"
I am happy with this as a first price. as it was a funny prod.. it is not always about beching as tech as possible..
and LOVED the "WHAT??" comment when the ReAmiga was handed out. and I was thinking "wait until he notices it got an 060 aswell :)"
Was there more technical advanced demos? yes! but that is not all!
CONGRATS! is all I can say :)

Obviously a LOT of hard work went into this!!
Should it have won the compo? Not sure, but the voters at Revision gave it their seal of approval, so we can't complain :)
There's a few moments of joy in there, but personally I found a few of the scenes a bit long and drawn out, waiting for them to end.
Defo worth a thumb for the hard work though :)

THIS is how you do a good parody -- good humor and good tech! deserved win.
I like it! There are some really cool parts here, and yeah, the thinking behind the theme is pretty funny. The execution is decent overall, though I'll admit to not being hugely convinced by the music - it's a little rough-sounding and does plod quite a bit at times.
Clearly, the prod brought a lot of joy on the night, so well done on the win!

All ideas are only on Amiga, when was it different? Amiga Rulez!
Some funny parts, but not for me
sprawling good vibes and the tune is still on loop inside my head!
the upset winner of the show. but how can you not love those little flying critters beating the crap out of the evil looking guy for no reason?
i guess people just wanted something positive.

not the best demo but i think it just made folks have a great time. sometimes that is enough - even for 1st place. thankfully it is not always about the technical side. the music is also fun to listen to. overall i enjoyed it a lot.
Okay, one shouldn't approve and glorify violence, but the scene with
"This is not realtime! Pathetic!" and the flyging tooth made me burst
out laughing :-)
A very neat and upcheering demo with a lot of details. It looks and feels
so easy but it must have taken a lot of patience and effort to get it
right.
The (plasma?)trails that are left behind by our flying powerpuff girls are
nice.
Thanks for your work, creativity, and the fun.

During the compo I went "aww this is totally my favorite, too bad it's not gonna win" - boy was I wrong, and I'm glad I was :) Shows how sometimes you don't need the bestest and shiniest tech if you have a good idea and invest a lot of love.
As a parody demo it's ok, but other than that well. I've got a bit of a mixed feelings therefore a piggy.
OK.
Liked it!
didn't expect this ranking, but certainly cute, funny and well executed
Well, come on, clearly a LOT of work went into this one. Even if every component in itself is simple, anyone who made anything on Amiga, ever, understands that this took many many hours to piece together.
However. The soundtrack sounds like some MIDI from the mid 90s. Effects before the "story" starts are rather boring and drawn out. And it's anyway not so much a story as a string of "Hey! Do you remember THIS fucking thing from 0-3 years ago?" short term nostalgia. Clearly I again need more beer to enjoy german humour.

.i value all effort behind this, but it's predictable and bit cheesy stuff.
Sugar, Spice and everything nice! :)
Vaguely entertaining.
Don't like the (st-01) music which also feels disconnected from the visuals.

I just saw this again today and found it even better than during the party.
Huge congrats on making a demo that is both funny and tasteful with just the right amount of demoscene teasing ;)

attentionwhore seems to have a bad habit of nailing it but this one really is a timeless piece (works 100% fine on minimig fpga too btw)
A bit slow-paced, but insanely lovely.
It's a nice parody, and rather well produced for a "joke" prod. However .. I don't particularly enjoy the music, as it does not seem to fit the rest of the production.
norm
I don't get it, I'm not German. This looks like Kevin-level of sense of humor and nostalgia to something I presume only German audience may understand. Great it showed up, but I don't see it as a winner. I skipped after less than a minute
