It was amazing to witness the progress this demo made during the last months. Great work, proud on you, my friends!

Great late90/early00 vibes here, also dig the nod to Ibiza & Stars.

My favorite at the compo. Love the 90s demo scene aesthetics, and the software rendering makes it look different somehow.

Great demo! The soundtrack was so good, i turned up my amp in the middle of the night to let my neighbours hear it too. Best soundtrack of compo ♥

pretty bold to go with software rendering at 1080p in the PC compo but it runs smoothly and still stands up visually against all the big GPUs - respect. also appreciate the late 90s style, very watchable.

I'm the baddest guy around but all your praise brings a fucking tear to my eyes. Thank you all so much, and we'll be back, Bypass, next Revision.

2003 style, I can dig it. Good to give the GPU a little rest once in a while. :) Hope to see more like this!

About the OSXLinux builds: I've been tired and busy, and I'm going on a short trip now, but I'll tend to them this weekend. You can try yourself but beware things were set up in a bit of a particular way so it might not be as straightforward as possible to build them, for which my apologies!

Managed to build it on my 2018 mbp, few things to change, far from impossible if I can do it :)
Just watching through some demos I missed, I realized this is software rendering. Effects are pretty good and run smoothly enough for 720p (most recent PC softrendered demos were doing less even in 240p before). That's the step forward for modern PC software rendering.

I couldn't help myself and created a "director's cut". This includes a Windows x64 executable and an OSX Silicon executable, plus the silly "joke" at the end was cut. It's possible that we'll update the archive with a universal Mac binary this weekend, but don't hold your breath, we'll get a Youtube grab going, that's probably a better idea. I'm now done with this project, but feel free to hit me up with questions, requests, criticism, laughter about the dated code style... In the end as a team we got a lot out of this project and I hope next year we'll be ready once more. Thank you for all the kind words; and that's a wrap.

@superplek: I'm trying to run this on a m1 but every dylib needs to be manually "allow anyway"-ed. Any trick to do this in one go?
added on the 2023-04-20 09:38:19 by Rob Rob
Oh really? I honestly don't know enough about OSX to tell you what the answer is. Can I reach you somewhere (or you me) to have a quick look at what it's bitching about? Don't want to pollute this so far nice thread with random frustrations about Apple-related stuff. Perhaps it's just a matter of CHMOD'ing them (which I can do). I'll reinstate my e-mail address in my profile.

Very enjoyable (also great music), featuring my favourite effect ever, the landscape tunnel ! I really liked that one.

@Rob: thanks a bunch, I had to modify your script a little bit and Rik did a few rounds of testing, but we have a working launch script now for OSX!

Liked this a lot, both as in itself and as for the nostalgia factor of software rendering and these effects.

Extra points for the source which is clean and very readable high-quality code.

Lovely demo with a great soundtrack. Works great on an M1 Pro. It is hard not to like these effects when they are so well executed and implemented. I was following the project for a while (the repo was already public during development) and I am glad to see it resulted in a cool release :)

Really oldskool and cool demo. Comatron adds some phat beats that fits very well to the demo. Great stuff.

Damnit, it runs on Windows and OSX Silicon, how hard is that exactly? :) Just keep it Windows and OSX users with enough change in their pockets will get a free surprise. OK?

finally superplek did it after years of teasing us on social networks; super solid work; nice soft color grades, syncing; don't leave cpu territory now ;) (ofc, do whatever motivates you to produce again)

highly enjoyable and pleasantly polished to a reasonable degree, although the overlay graphics aren't entirely to my personal taste, and the music also feels jarringly modern for a context like this. the tunnel effects are beautiful in particular and definitely steal the show, but i'm a bit surprised about the lower resolution and precision of the raymarched(?) blobs and potential fields.

Thank you ALL so much for the very kind words about the tune. I am not very active here, yet. It was really nice to get known to/and work with Niels on this one. We had a cozy sunday evening in the E-Werk and it felt all good. Shouts to ALL of you - especially to Dascon, Virgill, Hoffmann, Bonefish, Smash & Alkama for the nice talks we had. Also a salut from the heart to Mygg and my Bitbendaz Fam.

There was a lot of blur going on ;) Feel free to peruse the sourcecode and ask me anything you want in detail, I'm more than happy to answer.

Also, @Comatron, it was fantastic to work with you as well.

TPB/bypass is back!
I felt the style of the year 2000.
Also, In 2023, I was surprised to see the choice of software rendering on this platform.
