So the music is from somewhere else, a full shader (which by my count is about one third of the demo) is from somewhere else, and the backgrounds are all AI generated...

hmm, getting decent input to start with, then tweaking the settings, the seeds and the prompts for hours and selecting the best results to evolve further is indeed NOT assembler coding...
Back in our day be wrote code with shizzle and stone tablets

I am glad this demo spurs some controversy :-) Is it ugly? Absolutely! Did I use royalty-free music because I suck at creating music? Offcourse! Did I lend a shader and modified it so it reacts to beats and checked the license? Oh yes.
The point is, although this demo is an ugly whacked-together monstrosity, it did entertain the public enough to gain second place. We are thrilled that we were able to pull this off in less than 6 hours (started coding at midnight, and submitted it at 6 am).
Thanks for all the voters and support, and let me share a fresh beer with you. See you at some next demoparty!
Also, thanks to the organisation of Nordlicht, I was thrilled to attend a real demoparty since long (three years). We had a blast. See you next year!

Knowing that everything that made this prod kinda enjoyable to watch during the compo was ripped from others unfortunately puts the entire production in a bad light for me, which is unfortunate because making a release is work - and I don't understand how someone would want to invest their time and effort into something... indecent.

Do not misquote me, I was talking about using AI for Grafix to be more than just Clicking 1 button and waiting for the result.

If you have to resort to changing the subject to win your argument I don't see you as worthy of having an adult discussion with.
So so friggin assets are all ripped, copied, and AI generated - which allowed you to produce a enjoyable collage through recombination and putting things in a context of your own? Maximum demoscene spirit.
