This won the 'Like it's '83' music competition on CSDB, but it has enough visually going on to add here I think. Competition idea was to write music in the styles before the more well known 'golden age' of Commodore 64 music.

There were people doing arps in early '84. (see Kong Strikes Back on c64 or the Do Run Run! arcade machine for example) This track covers the history of 83-84 before the golden age comes in. See the games listed in the loading part for examples of other techniques like pulsewidth modulation, filter envelopes and drum noise shaping.

thanks for the fast reply ! checked both games and yes, you're right, they used arpeggios (in '84).
some of my favourites back then (on the 64) were "Killerwatt" and Montezuma's Revenge + Forbidden Forest :-)
