Should have won!
Awesome intro. Once again.
Awesome intro. Once again.
One of my top 3 favourite entries of the demoparty.
I wish you didn't limit yourselves to 4K, because I could watch more of this.

very nice. again.
Hydrospheric!
Very beautiful, I love how it fits the music and the strong mood!
The concept of majestically voyeuring on a fantastical environment guided by a nondescript geometric primitive—or at least its mere surface level (ha...) exploration—has badly worn out by now, let's put it to rest already. Deck II largely leaned on the same narrative premise, but built a more captivating environment around it. (In general also most of the criticism I had for Eisenerz also applies here.) While I absolutely do not get excited by any non-craftmanship aspects of this, I recognize almost all works we do in the Demoscene are products of the context in which the authors were at the time, and not some teleological series of auteurship that consistently one-ups on the previous item, so I don't think it's fair to just demand an improvement compared to whatever the author last made—that just sucks the enjoyment out and rots the scene from within—but instead should try to regard it as a more standalone work.
With that said, aside from that there's almost nothing wrong with this. It's definitely the best looking underwater 4k intro since Hydrokinetics and a definite improvement over it on the rendering side of things. The volcanic surfaces look organic and artifact-free, and the caustic rays of light fall gracefully on them. There's a good use of implied space with the use of the long lenses and tight cropping, especially in the claustrofobic tunnels towards the end. The brief kaleidoscopic interlude feels cheap and tropey in one regard, but also surprisingly apt here as a kind an act break! Virgill delivers on the audio side of things again of course, though the PD-like synthesis is starting to lose its appeal a bit.
I can't really say it's a great intro, but I have to say the work is mostly good.

Definitely my favorite 4K of the demoparty. Should have won, the sounds and the atmosphere really go together.
Hello from t+1.
Fantastic soundtrack and visuals.
outstanding!
Superb looking and sounding. I sort of imagine those boxes to be coffins which adds a bit of human touch to it. What looks like some wooden support framework covered in sand is also pretty cool scenery
Proper soundtrack with emotional highlights and thick atmosphere, the best part of this intro!
Great 3D but textures are maybe a bit rough...

ALMOST the right take; the problem isn't the exploration, it's the fact that exploration is not exciting if there's nothing to find - the geometry is all samey, the narrative centers around the same action recurring, and the audio doesn't match the visuals, so instead of "voyeuring" it feels like a screen saver, something that moves and is relatively pretty, but doesn't try to keep your attention.
(Also whatever you're doing with your (I assume) TXAA still flickers on a Radeon.)
Quite pretty and thematic. The audio work was wonderful.
atmospheric and very nice looking 4k! but not so sure about the theme. could also be an exploration on a water planet somewhere in outer space or something else.
i love lj and virgill ;*
Nice
looks and sounds SO great, amazing what you can squeeze in 4K.
Gargaj has a point, though.

On point both visually and musically. In terms of storytelling I feel like it kind of teases more than it ultimately says, but overall I very much enjoy LJ's evolution as a director.
In uncharted 4 I found this cargo ;) (only this looks much nicer ;)
runs okay enough on my rx56, some flickering in the beginning and later in the intro the lighting looks wrong (compared to the version showed in the stream) in some scenes.
fantastic underwater mood. gf likes it very much as well :)
should have won!

Beautiful, both visually and musically.
Nice work on the lead synth, Virgill :) The shining rocks were a nice touch. One question though: how did the shipping container suddenly become buoyant at the end? Such a cliff-hanger!
gotta love a nice 40ft ISO container
Immersive music.
Both gtx executables crash on my gtx1080ti :/
watched it on youtube, and liked it.

Awesome!
Yes.
good stuff!
This was nice! Although the white ball looks like the light source from the default shader in Compofiller Studio :)
loved it
Looks nice, and these sounds!
Great visuals and an unbelievably awesome soundtrack!
very atmospheric again! should definitely have won
Wow!
should have won.
OK.
First I was like ok, a box with some fake god-rays, but then the cave scenery started to deliver!
I also like how Gargaj is not amused.

Beautiful visuals with an even better soundtrack, but not as mindblowing as your last 4k Deck II.
\o/
adapr!
oops wrong prod. what i meant is: virgl
who would have thought that 4ks can get so music driven, i remember "this 4k has sound!" as a thumb up criterium for itself, even if "sound" was just a (bad) kickdrum
Great work as always!
lovely tune and nice demo
Favourite from the compo! Very nicely done!
