This is supposed to be the first demo ever resembling anything that seems like design as many people have told me. Very nice!

Oldschool,. the first one having design as they told me,... but I had a big desire to vote it. (Rettet den Klassikern as someone insists saying on c64.ch ;)
This was the demo that made me interested in the demoscene. Great music by uncle tom and incredible effects at the time. I think I've seen this demo 50 times :)
Oldschool! Really a classic!
godfather of all modern demos.
Scoopex kicked ass with this one! total classic! and brings back 'good old' memories for me :)

"Scoopex - generations ahead"
damn great... just saw it again in CCC Cologne demoshow by pandur and xxx =)
i think madness took me! i must vote for a thumb up! =)
THE breakthrough for Scoopex, amazing vectors combined with stencils/copper, pure entertainment.
#1
typical oldskool orgasm :)
It's like being 14 again :-) ... Incredible!
Is it supposed to guru after ... "and always remember..." ?
Is it supposed to guru after ... "and always remember..." ?
deetsay: no it isn't
i wonder why my a500 simply skips the stencil vector part (which is there, isn't it?) though.

no here's something really nice. it has the quality amiga feeling all over it.
Yep, no need for a comment.
nuff said.
i still remember this great prod, uncletoms song "madness took me" is very very good :-)
if you downloaded this disk, and you wondered why the stencil vectors part got skipped, here is the answer: the disk was corrupted, we fixed this now, a 100% working disk is available under the link above now.
sucking fx, boring scrollers, annoying amiga stereo effect... but back in the day, it ruled :) Brings back many memories, and the tune is still great
this is not a megademo, this is the first trackmo. at least the first worth mentioning. it changed the scene forever.
heh... or as they put it, "this is not a megademo, this is a fucking scoopex demo" or whatever :) but yes, revolutional in every aspect.
(couldn't believe i haven't thumbed it up yet btw)
(couldn't believe i haven't thumbed it up yet btw)
One of the first demos I saw, and a definite classic. Nice logos, great effects (the stencil vectors especially), though I always thought the music was utterly dreadful.

Classic shit :-) Still love it to this day.
No thumb yet, my mistake. A milestone of course :)
roxxorz
Does anyone have a working download link for the Atari STe conversion? I would really like to see the two side by side.
first demo i saw. awesome, too bad the endpart checker board only works on pre-ECS graphics hardware
Wish I was 14 again :-(
Made the demoscene make demos the way I like them ;)
only beer makes it possibile!!!
this demo is surely a classic... at the date it was released it was far away to other demos. And it is still fun and worth enough looking it.
great classic
Yeah, the first trackmo, huh? Liked it alot back in the days. One or two bugs on Kickstart 1.3. The good old elite feeling shining through on several occasions. But the much appraised music was never a favorite of mine. Sorry.
Beside RSI-Cebit Demo and TRSI-Megademo the best ECS Amiga demo I have ever seen!
One of the best amiga demos ever.
A huge routines show-off. ;)
Respect and greetings from Antitrax 2010.

yes !
Cool one!
Its so good, that the Pixeltwins tried to convert it to the STE.
Really a nice Amiga prod.
Really a nice Amiga prod.
I say this is maybe the most important demo (trackmo) ever released in the History of the Amiga. It was something that was so revolutionary at the time. It was awesome.
still in the top 5 of my demos for the amiga.

Very very amazing thing on amiga! Scoopex - Generetions Ahead!
jaja wer schreiben kann iss klar im vorteil!! "Scoopex - generations ahead" :))
Hasn't aged a bit! And the music fits perfectly :)
Trackmo!! Praaack!!!!
like an aged wine :)

classic
I didn't thumb this yet? I must have had a mental hangover or something...
The last good Scoopex production!
It's 16 years old now... yeah, classic stuff.
my thumb for a really astonishing AMiGA demo !
Those were the years...
my ears :(
revolutionary - but not musicwise.
revolutionary - but not musicwise.
The track is bloody amazing and unique.
Maybe the only good track from Uncle Tom.
Maybe the only good track from Uncle Tom.
Outstanding demo. The fuckings scroller and music plus many new effects made this a landmark.
1990! experts!
What, I didn't thumb this up yet? Shame on me! Simply an awesome demo and milestone! The "Only beer makes it possible" circle scroll is still one of my favourites. :) The only thing I never liked here was the utterly bad music, in my opinion Uncle Tom's worst module ever.
very smooth and very rules
It's a great tune :) btw there's an story about it too, as Ziphoid put it:
"The reason for the madness in this tune, is basically that Tomas (Uncle Tom) had ordered a stand-up cabinet of the old Marble Madness coin-op from Norway, which he had searched for for quite some time, and when it finally arrived, it was totally broke, so he was sooo down and depressed and out came this song... There are quite a lot of references in the song to the original music for the game as well, hence the 'weird' effects here and there..."

I also missed to thump it up, but now =) i do so
I recall some old interview where it was stated that Slayer and/or Reward specifically requested a "weird" tune for the demo.. Could remember wrong though.
I've read that uncle tom thought it was a joke demo due to the name and did the tune accordingly.
break: i've read that too, perhaps it's both, or all the reasons (hitch), that the tune sounds like that :)
Insane music.
Classic
SCX at its best - did i need to say more???
Found this terribly boring to be honest.
Rules for sure
good one with pseudo texture mapping
break, hitch, serp: wasn't it because of the coin-op machine Marble Madness? The title of the song is Madness Took Me as we all know. And as far as I remember, Uncle Tom was addicted to that game and kept playing it over and over again. I thought he also tried to re-create the sound effects in this song, hence the bleeps and blops everywhere. Or is this a false story?
lol. dumb-ass me. Maybe I shouldn't just read the most recent comments but also the older ones. (*leaves the room with a frown*)
classic
This was the first real demo I ever saw - really cool. I remember liking the music back then, but today I'm not so hot on the soundtrack. Many effects, great code and excellent execution.
Great Effects + Music but - Hard to read scrollers :(
great demo
Madness took me !!
Only beer makes it possible. :)
I love the flag vector - and the bucket. :)

Brilliant classic!
classic
Thank you! This release was our issue 168 at modcast.de
My alltime favourite
Yes, it was a pleasure to watch. And there's an atari ST port, too.
where's my vote?
Still rocks today. Only a masterpiece can survive the trial of time.
memories :D
I'm not a big fan of this one.
Great FX and tune! SF.
First trackloader demo i saw and i fell in love with it.
rocks
Pure classic, Slayer flaming other Slayer, Uncle Tom entering in the legend with an immortal song !
Generation Ahead without any doubts, deserve a strong thumb up !

Classic!
i usually hate this style of demos, the whole aesthetic just doesn't appeal to me, except in some rare cases, such as this. it's the fast pace that does it and somewhat in-your-face attitude. i also feel like i should hate the music as well, but i can't :), it's just so energetic, adhd even; i feel like barraged in my senses from all directions, which is something i happen to enjoy. on the slower part the demo loses it's magic, but overall still worth a thumb up!
A milestone!
Roxx!
1990 and so many effect!
Classic!
Cool! :)
classic. i remember where i saw this for the first time, but not the year
legendary prod for sure, a milestone for the demoscene :)
I didn't really understand the change of paradigm this demo represented when I saw it at the time; I even wasn't sure if I liked it or not back then. In retrospect, it was massive.
Finally a demo with no thumbs down.. :) It's a classic yea!
The trackmo that litteraly changed the scene. Scoopex - lightyears ahead!
I remember getting this from my contact, he said he was the first person in the UK to get it, somehow i doubt that, but i watched it then in amazement and will always love this pioneering demo!
Nice!
cool
A game changer demo.
the music is absolutely not my cup of tea. but the fx look so smooth!
Oh damn, no thumb from me yet
Wonderful
I still remember being blown away by the casualty of the "vector names" right at the beginning. Awesome!
sorry but the music is so horrible I just couldn't stand it and had to stop the demo at some point.
I'm not going to give the first thumb down, but it's close.
I'm not going to give the first thumb down, but it's close.
Starts good, but becomes a little bit boring. And the music ... ehm. But still a classic of course.
Every time someone disses Mental Hangovers music I watch it again and like it even more.
The first trackmo!
A nice classic which I will never forget. It still rulez apart from the little bit strange music.
Classic from Finland. Music is different from any other demo (and those odd sounds do fit perfectly for this one), but that's one thing that's makes the difference (with coding and graphics =) ) All in all, guite unique experience.

HEY PARALAMIA AND UNIQUE, YOUR QUALITY IS FROM THE TOILET!!!!!
So 1337 that it’s almost 1338
Never seen it before but style reminds me Future Crew's megademo. But for Amiga.
80% content/style and 20% platform thumb.
80% content/style and 20% platform thumb.
Thumbing this up more than 25 years after I have watched it for the first time. Still awesome!! Dragonsfunk.mod! <3
Oh damn, that backfired. Dragonsfunk wasn't it I meant, but hey they both rock!
the song didn't age well at all but the visuals save it
Did not know that Finns could deliver a fine Amiga demo already in 1990, some memorable vector stuff here and some funnish texts... The last scene (balls jumping from the horizon) did not work on my A600.
I gotta admit I never appreaciated this demo so much in the past, thought it was ugly and had awful music.. But now when I'm a bit older (and hopefully a bit wiser too), I have to admit it's a really classic and awesome piece of art, produced in the time when most demos were ugly and had awful music ;)
This is a time to watch this once again.
pretty nice.
classic!
oh and i actually learned the term "hangover" from this.
One of the best non-AGA demos ever made. Crashes if you use an external drive as your df0 at the diagonal vector scroller part close to the end. In my case i used an A500 Rev. 6a & Gotek external (set to df0 via ACA500+). Although it starts and reloads several times from the Gotek it seems to have a hardcoded access to the internal drive at the part described before. I can confirm the weird glitches at the chess board part with ECS.
Btw. the glitches part is fixed in the WHDload-version. Also the reload crash cause .... WHDload even.
This production truly changed the way demos were made (catchword: trackmo). Moreover, the stencil vectors are cute. But somehow this production never captivated and set me in an excited state. Don't know why. Maybe it is because of that noisy and psychopathic music. On the other hand and in case it was composed to match the title of the trackmo, then it is a masterpiece and my compliments for the interpretational creativity. It definitely feels like a mental hangover. Thumbs up for the invention of the trackmo.
It was a milestone.
This is a classic - and amazing - demo that deserves all praise it can get. And the music by Uncle Tom, remembered forever thanks to this, is etched in Amiga history.
This demo marked a before and after, it deserves all the praise we can give it and even more.
Trackloader +1
Historical Thumb up!
Historical Thumb up!
As I was not in Scoopex at the time, I should be allowed to thumb this up. There was something of a "before" and "after" with the introduction of the trackmo.
This was equal to a 3-person Megademo, and quite different. Rather than watching a production for a favorite part, you would now watch it continuously scripted or at least linked, enjoying it to the end, hopefully from a fairly high quality throughout.
This was not always the case with Megademos, whose entire point was having everyone expressing what they liked (heavy metal/fantasy-inspired and synth/cyberpunk-inspired parts on Kefrens megademos being a great example!)
Titan/Uncle Tom already did so many excellent compositions that I don't consider this his best work. It's kinda crazy. I think I he just wanted to rock (as in Twisted sisters, or the first Presley tune, bless him), and he did.

Its so crazy, the tune from this demo starts to play in my head... I love it >:D
