ace spaceship? ace spaceship.
fab :)
Nice twix
Love me some space! Great visuals, piano music is haunting and the direction is really well done. Look forward to the next installment. :)
fav demo of the show!
Nice
I do love that screenshot there - nice and moody! :)
ok

the direction is really well done.:)
Is it though? The pacing is non-existent, the cameras spin around without keeping constant velocity, and most of the demo is spent on showcasing repetitive greetings over and over on the same object - it even says "to be continued" while there's nothing to continue, literally nothing happened.
The first two shots were decent, there's some sense of good cinematography + typography at first, and I kinda like the (well-performed but severely under-produced) music, but then it just descends into the worst demo tropes.
I don't get it but the music is good. Just have to reeeeally strech my mind how it fits into this demo. Maybe in some Space Quest -esque way.
I have to agree with Gargaj's take on this for the most part.
MrsBeanbag delivers a whimsical musical piece with a 70s TV theme tune aesthetic, however the arrangement is somewhat chaotic and jumps from pleasing to tension to suspense to urgent to resolved to tension again. The audio production feels very unfinished and while musically competant needs a bit love to bring it to the forefront.
The opening scenes are competant but I struggle to be entertained by very linear flyby sequences of poorly textured shipping containers and a low complexity model of what I assume is a spaceliner. It seems really disconnected from what the music was trying to portray.

Awesome!
really enjoyed the vibe of this demo!
Nice and chill. Enjoyed watching the space freighter thing chug along on its mission spreading demoscene wares across the galaxy 😀

i don't really know what sort of audio production i need to do on a piano piece?
From what I can tell (and this is just guesswork based on the sound) it was a live-recorded piece with a mic'd up piano, which is why there's a lot of low-quality-mic-distortion crunch/grain in the mid which makes it sound very nasal. Either use a better mic setup (which can be tough if the room is a limit), or record to MIDI and engineer the audio through a more expressive grand piano patch.
except for the music, i find this pointless, boring and ugly
Love it.
Promisse me.. you'll wait for me...
I'm sorry, but the piano piece i just can't get out of my head anymore. Is it by design, that it pokes the same notes as the refrain of "Promise Me" by Beverley Craven?

starts promising, establishment of proportion with the initial saturn shots works well and sets a cinematic frame. music provides an unconvential combination. colors are very coderish (easy on the saturation!), and i'd have hoped for more nice cinematic camera work.
