professional and modern in its presentation, yet the scenes were way too simple and bright to leave an impact on me. the sound-fx stood out but then again this is not an intro.

Nice work on sound design here. The quality of the text screens is also noticeable. Sadly the aliasing in the rendered scenes comes in contrast with it.
Regarding the quality of the rendering, I can imagine how you might want to make a point of keeping it low, to focus on the effect of sound, but I have to agree with reptile that the absence of AO is visually shocking: the puck feels completely disconnected from the surface despite the sound telling otherwise.
