some nice stuff here and there, i especially liked the synchros and the general flow (i somehow liked the loading :), but some color combinations were bad and there were too many glitches (look at the letter 'i' in the font for example).

nice and stylish... not as in _MY_ style, but the fancy and colorful style fits the demo "theme" very well. A few coding bugs here and there, but this is a party version, so it works. Also, it's nice to see girls actually doing stuff in the scene, but that doesn't change my vote a little bit :-)

Well for the ones that didn't know, each one of us belongs to different groups. We only "created" this new group (powerpuff) because it was easier than saying network+zon@n+unknown/tlotb.
By the way, great thanks to diamondie for the ascii. I asked her for an ascii just some days before the party.
I think this should be explained in the file_id of the final version, which should fix some problems ... ;) (That you haven't noticed yet!! but I know they are inside that little .exe)

I think there's potential here, but I don't think it was realized this time around. I loved the music, but I think the demo seemed a little inconsistent on the whole.

Probably the biggest surprise of the democompo. I really enjoyed this one!
Today it's not something superb for me to see girls in the scene. I discover accidentally a lot of them, while searching for another person on Ojuice people section for example. It's ok and egal für mich. Afteralls my website only says that and the quote from Duke Nukem 3d anymore..

the music was really... annoying. playing this late at night didnt make it better either. hmm.. a little pigface for 2 nice color combinations and it was also nice to see a strawberry in the beginning.
I'd definitely like to see what seem to be pretty simple effects, that don't chunk my 2.6ghz so badly, in a final version. Reminds me a lot of threepixels stuff, maybe their engine? :)

VeNomSouP: I don't believe thinking this is a good and enjoyable demo (and don't know about you, but I did enjoy this at the partyplace) means I have no life or no girlfriend... I do have a life, I do have a girlfriend (who is not included in the credits of this production, and has no relation to the demoscene whatsoever), and I still think this is a nice demo, which I happen to enjoy. As I said, the gender of the creators doesn't change my vote a little bit.

I think I know why this ran so horribly, 51 channels! And half the samples were not cut. I shaved 400k off the .it by trimming the beginnings and ends of samples. AND it sounds a lot cleaner. Also trimming down half the doubled channels and adjusting volumes instead would help. Even if some are octaved, couldn't hurt to be conservative. NNA's are your friend. Matter of fact, I should try that. Please, please, please! optimize your mods, and your code, and you'll go places.

Don't worry... final version will include the smooth ending that we couldn't put because of lack of time. Also optimized music, panned instruments, better syncro and much more ;)

yeah. this demo runs in the desktop resolution? which is 1600x1200 32bpp here for me. and that wasn't fast. even though I wonder why, such simple graphics shouldn't be that slow, not even in that video mode.
sorry to thumb down, the effort is good, and there should be more girls in the scene. but this demo isn't good at all.

I just watched this for the first time. Hmm. It was a bit slowish and buggy, but I guess that's because of my integrated GFX card. The scene on the screenshot was very buggy, I guess that 3d thing is suppose to move but it didn't and there was a white layer on top of everything.
Many scenes were quite ugly, the huge texts didn't look too good, but those red scenes were cool. I found the music quite nice, even though it was very mid-90's. The demo ended a bit after the greets scroller started, I guess the timing was a bit messed up because of the slowness .

Aaarghh,.. these intergrated cards. I know another Erasmus student here from Bulgaria and sent him recently some demos which he liked very much and was even thinking to learn coding some too or even coming with me at TUM. What a bad irony to find out later that his slow computer with intergrated gfx card makes tons of accelerated demos to deny running!!! (The percentage was so big that I was tapping my head! I think only FR08 ran at all. Hell..) Exactly the person who showed some interest for demos happens to have the exact PC that can't run many of them! I hope this doesn't demotivate him :)

Well, it's important to spread the scene all around, and if your friend can't view the demos you can also recommend him to view wild demos, or still better, make some miniparties and view demos with more people :)

The truth is even in a PII350, the sound player doesn't eat any significative cpu %. The fact is that it is a first demo, with lots of it partycoded, and that it is not optimized.
And *I don't care* about it because we'll do better demos in a future; simply consider it like is. And follow our trajectory ;)

it might be a first-timer, but i'd stick to that p2-350 for a while. just to run into trouble, to discover that a p2-350 hosts a lot of power already.
the main reason for it to be so slow is that it runs in the same resolution that you have the desktop.

The module is one of the most heavy (too much channels?) among with some truly good tunes from Acumen I got on my disk. Proof1? Winamp sucks the OS in the old PC when I play them. Also, with this slow module I accidentally discovered that there are much faster and less known players than Winamp, moduleplug player actually (The one that came with a tracker if I recall well) where even the heavier module gives me enough CPU left in this crappy PC. I now use Modplug player for modules and Winamp for MP3s.
use xmplay and the winamp oldsk00l plugin.
Now you can listen to the people in the partyplace when this demo was shown for the first time!! Thanks to Scythoior/sueño for the recording (it appeared at Pain#55 but I have cropped it so as to show you just the scene of the girls part).

I liked it. Not bad for a first production, and I found a couple of scenes very nice indeed. In addition, I could feel the influence of the TLOTB style... don't you think so? :D
