@wormsbiysk

The final render color for the background seems off by a little, though i don't know why. I can correct the offset manually, and save these bytes on the volume setting to keep it 127 bytes.

I provided 6 of these manual corrections >>>HERE<<<.

Can you please try out these versions, starting with "sub1" and tell me which looks best? If the stripes still occur, could you provide a screenshot?

still stipes :(
screenshot (w/o aspect ratio corection and with some tearing so don't mind it :)BB Image

Which version did you use to make the screenshot?
added on the 2015-06-27 18:03:41 by HellMood HellMood
erm...version of what? I grabbed this shot in win98se dos box.

Which version of "boingsub?.com" i just provided ;)

any of these and original :)

I need to know, which version did you use for this screenshot :D They produce different images. For tuning the offset further, i must know, which version you used specifically to get THIS screenshot.
added on the 2015-06-27 18:16:24 by HellMood HellMood
okay, original :D
added on the 2015-06-27 18:20:06 by wbcbz7 wbcbz7
and "sub?" versions give almost same pattern in background as on screenshot
added on the 2015-06-27 18:23:12 by wbcbz7 wbcbz7
Yep. The pattern is always there ... the trick is, with a certain offset, both stripes map to black ;)

Strangely enough, if you did the screenshot with the original, then one of the versions 1-6 should already have produced a black background ...

But anyway i did some more versions (8-16) >>>HERE<<<

How are these? Which one is best? (Btw. thanks for helping me here, i currntly have no MsDos 7.10 here)

boingsub10 - black background with white border
boingsub12 - very dark stripped background with white border
boingsub14 - same as sub12 with more visible bg pattern
boingsub16 - same as sub14 with even more visible stripes :)
boingsub18 - same as sub16 with almost visible stripes :D
and last... boingsub8 is the same as boingsub10! Finally :)

yes

Humm. Is the idea was to have a torus, or the black shades shall be around the ball, not in the middle?

@sim

I thought the "backlighting" would look good. If you're more into "frontlighting", here you go:

Now you got IT!

128 bytes? Massive respect. I don't even think I could write a midi player to trigger a drum sound in 128 bytes. :-)

In all honesty, I planned writing "great stuff! :) next time for the correct platform ;)" but this is good enough that I vote Rulez and STFU. Cool :)

I prefer classic lighting as well. Nice!

You clearly failed. 127b means 1b is missing and I feel it could have been added with very low effort.

Other than that - great ;-)
